Dose anyone else miss the Main Street Electrical Parade??

MSEP opitimized WDW for me. It was there when i visitied WDW the first time (over 20 years ago) and it was one of the few things that truely stood out in my memory.

When i went to WDW my 2nd time (this time with my husband and son) it was over 20 years later, and MSEP was at WDW again as part of the Melin. Celebration. The crowds that night were crazy, but i HAD to see that parade. I bawled like an idiot.(and am getting a little sappy now as a matter of fact.) I was 10 again. It was fantastic and better than i remembered.

I dig Spectro, but I will plan a trip around seeing MSEP.

I don't know! When I listen to the MSEP music from my Disney CD set, it sounds hauntingly familiar, but I'm not sure whether I actually saw it in 1980 or not! Was it runninng in MK at that time?

Given Disney's past history I am sure they will "retire" Spectro to update it and bring back MSEP again.

I remember they advertised MSEP as going away for good and it came back.

I would have to say I am a Main Street Electrical Parade fan. My sister and I saw Spectromagic last summer and were somewhat disappointed in it. We liked it but not as much as MSEP. There was just something about the lights and the music of it all. Wow! We miss it too and wish it would be brought back. It truely seemed magical.::yes::

What is up with the freaky faceless dolls in the beginning?? Where did they come from...Walt's nightmare?
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Exactly how I feel!!!::yes::
I am another MSEP lover here!! Nothing compares to it.

When we were at MK last year, for the Spectr....I felt I could just take it or leave it.....we left it so we could ride Space Mtn 2 more times!!
BUT.....for MSEP.......I would stake out my spot an hour ahead of time!!!!::yes::
I think it is one of the best things MK ever had...wish they would bring it back!!:cool1:

Count me in as another MSEP fan. I saw it at WDW in 2000 with my kids. What a great parade! Can anyone tell me when Disney first introduced the MSEP? I could have sworn I first saw it in Disneyland in 1974 or 1976. Is that possible?

One more vote for MSEP!!

Went to Cal. Adventure in June/2003 and was surprised to find out they had it. We stayed late on purpose to see it again.

Nothing like the opening.... when that familiar electronic voice announces the start of the parade.....and you can hear the music start from a long distance at the beginning of the parade and resonate throughout the park (we alway get as near the end as possible).

Disney HAS to bring it back, they are pros at milking the nostalgia angle for old MK freaks like us. Not like we need any more excuses to plan the next trip, but this would be a good one!

1999 was my first trip to WDW. We saw MSEP and I fell in love with it!! My dd, then just turned 6, wasn't nearly as enthusiastic tho. Those little bugs coming at her, at face level, really freaked her out!! Now, we like Spectro a lot, but after 3 times, we don't make it a point to see it now. But, if they were to bring by MSEP, we would be there every night possible. I, too, have the CD and listen to it for my 'fix'. Bring it back!!!!!

I love MSEP!!! There is no other parade that can take it's place. I was fortunate enough to get to see it in Disneyland at California Adventure in June. Brought back so many memories!!!!

I just don't like Spectro.

MISS MSEP very much. Wife got a Disney CD that has the misic in it but it still was not the same as being there. When our daughter was teaching she came down with the school band since they were to play at MK and she asked my wife to be a chaperone. While at MK they found the MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE CD and bought it for me, birthday present. Everytime we go to WDW I start the CD as we pull away from the house and the neat thing about the CD is that it is the FULL LENGTH PLAY of the music, just like you hear it at MK. It is even introduced as WDW MSEP.
