First Jillian Barberie got fired, and now Dorothy? I'm in the middle of watching Good Day Live and Dorothy mentioned she won't be back next week because she has been fired. Anyone have anymore info on this? Wow - I wonder what the future of this show will be now?

Jillian Barberie got fired?

As you can tell I don't watch often but she was a big asset to the show. That is surprising.

Well, I didn't like Jillian but I'm not sure which one Dorothy is? Is she the blonde with a scratchy voice who talks a lot about her baby? Her voice kinda bugs me. Are hosts allowed to say on air they got fired? Hmmm. I thought they used substitute hosts because it seems to be someone different all the time on with Steve. A few weeks ago it was Kathie Lee and I thought she was funny. I was never a KLG hater though she sure had some.

I think Jillian was fired in June sometime. Not really sure what the reasoning was behind it, but there's speculation that it's because she was very opinionated and caused conflict among the co-hosts.
Yes, Dorothy is the one with the scratchy voice and long blond hair. I actually like her so was shocked to hear she has been fired too. Naomi Judd and Martin Short were cohosting with Dorothy today (Steve's on holiday). They were talking about making the most of your life regardless of what's happening to you, etc....and Dorothy offhandedly mentioned she has been fired. She said that people don't normally mention this on TV, but she decided to anyway!

*bump* Anyone know any details? Thanks!

Matenopoulos, Neville Say 'Good Day'
By Kimberly Speight

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Debbie Matenopoulos, who was ousted
from "The View" in 1999, and Arthel Neville are set to co-host the
nationally syndicated morning program "Good Day Live" alongside Steve
Edwards.

Matenopoulos and Neville, who have regularly appeared as guest
co-hosts on the show over the past three months, will officially join
the lineup Aug. 30.

Edwards co-hosted the show with Jillian Barberie and Dorothy Lucey.
Barberie departed the show in June, saying she wanted to pursue other
projects, while Lucey's last day as "Good Day Live" co-host will be
Friday.

Edwards, Barberie and Lucey will continue co-hosting "Good Day L.A.,"
the show's local version, which airs on Fox-owned KTTV in Los Angeles.

"The chemistry that is obviously there for the local version wasn't
transferring to the national audience, so we've decided to make these
additions of Arthel and Debbie," said a spokesperson for the show's
distributor, Twentieth Television.

"Good Day Live," which enters its third season in the fall, is
averaging a meager 1.0 household rating season-to-date.

Neville has anchored the syndicated entertainment newsmagazine "Extra"
and CNN's "TalkBack Live" and has been a correspondent for Fox News
Channel's "Fox Files." She also co-hosted the syndicated talk show
"Arthel & Fred."

Matenopoulos recently hosted "Entertainment News" and co-hosted "The
Screening Room" for the TV Guide Channel. From 1997-99, she was the
youngest co-host on ABC's daytime talk show "The View" until she was
replaced by Lisa Ling.

I really enjoyed watching Good Day Live until Jillian was fired. I am really surprised to hear Dorothy has been fired as well.

Dorothy's voice drove me crazy!! I'm sorry to hear of anyone losing a job though...

I thought the 3 of them (steve, jillian and dorothy) had great chemistry. I guess after 4-5 years though, everyone wanted a change. Actors/showbiz types seem to enjoy new projects. It's the nature of the lifestyle, I imagine.

Ditto. I haven't watched since Jillian left.

Isn't it funny that Steve kept his job though? He is clueless most of the time - I thought that Dorothy and Jillian were the whole show and Steve would throw in his inane comments every once in a while.

Oh well, Regis still has his job too, right? They just keep filling the co-host chairs with carbon copy blondes that are, obviously, easily replaced.
