Dorky Disney Cruisers, 11/22-26/06,Anyone else with us???

Hi RRB,

Welcome.

The kids are going to flip when they see the ship!!! I wish I could keep that kind of secret. I couldn't last till Nov.

Is this your first Thanksgiving Cruise? It's my first, & we are so......excited. I heard they serve besides turkey, Lobster on Thanksgiving. LOL I'm game!!!!

Glad your going to join us.

Patricia

Hi Pat - the surprise will work fine until they get down from Colorado 4 days before the cruise. Once they're here, it will be more difficult to keep. If we're able to pull it off, it will be sheer pandemonium when they see the ship in the distance. There are 2 tall bridges on the Bee Line between I-95 and the port. you can see the ship from the first one if you are looking. You can't miss it when you're on the second one.

This will be our 3rd Thanksgiving cruise and to tell you the truth, I can't remember what they served for dinner beside Turkey with all the fixins. Whatever it was, it was good. We haven't done Palo on Thanksgiving because our boys were to young to join us there. We won't do that this year because of our brother's kids are to young. This will be our first cruise where both our boys can join us at Palo and we'll be eating there on Friday.

You know we go to CC on Thanksgiving, right? they moved the Nassau day to the third day instead of the second day.

Is this your first Disney Cruise?

Randy

That is a great surprise...

I wish someone would suprise me like that! Anyway, since you have been on the Thanksgiving cruise before what special things have you seen? Are there more perks or is it just the food?

I have also found out that our Pirate dinner will be on the third night (Nassau) as opposed to the second like usual.

I am looking forward to this as well, do a lot of people dress up?

Hi All,

Yes, my question is, does, everyone really dress fancy, on the Thanksgiving Cruise?

Randy, I have been on 2 others 3 Day Wonder Cruises, but it was very casual. I imagine Thanksgiving is a dresser day, but do people really get dress up?

I just booked the 11 day Mediterranean  for next June.

I am so excited.

Glad this tread is started to move a bit. :woohoo:

Here are some things that the Thanksgiving cruise will offer -Traditional Thanksgiving dinner, the ship will be decorated for CHristmas including a large tree in the atrium, the characters will be dressed in Thanksgiving attire and a few surprises are always in store.

There is no official "formal" night on the cruise, even for Thanksgiving dinner, however you'll find that some people will dress up for the holliday dinner. I would say about half get dressed up.

You can't tell about Pirate night. It really depends on the cruisers. I have seen alot of people participate and I've seen only a few. I hope that our ship has a great group of cruisers. We will all bring pirate garb with us.

along with a really nice traditional thanksgiving dinner, the ship will be fully decorated for Christmas including a big tree in the deck 3 atrium. Also, the characaters will be dressed in Thanksgiving outfits. I'm sure there will be a few surprises in store.

People dress up for the Thanksgiving dinner more than usual although it isn't an official "formal" night.

RRB;

Who do I need to inform about the fact that I am going to be on my honeymoon? The passprter says to let disney know but who do I let know?

BML Mickey

BML - start by calling the Disney Cruise Line reservation office (at least 3 weeks in advance). They will note your reservation which will alert the ship and several departments on board. Next, tell the cast member that greets you as soon as you board the ship. He or she will be announcing you and it will be special to hear that it is your "special cruise". Next, tell Guest Services on board just to make sure they know on the boat. You can ask GS what special things they offer. Then, tell your server and head server. They will make sure your dinners are special.

You probably already know this but there is a special package called "the Romantic Escape". It can be found on the web site and might be of interest to you.

Hope you have a great cruise and hope that we run into you. Many of the newlyweds wear the Disney bride/groom hats and it's easy to see who has just been married.

Randy

Thank you so much for the info. I am so excited for this cruise I hope I am not over excited. Everybody at home is telling me that I am over excited and need to relax becasue I wouldn't want to be disapointed. I don't think that is possible.

I will need to try to find those hats, that would be fun.

It can't come soon enough thats for sure.

Is everyone going home from the cruise or are any one staying a extra few days.

I will start.

Well, my fiance and I are departing from Buffalo airport on the 15th of November and flying to Punta Cana Dominican Republic. We are getting married on the 18th of November at the Bavaro Princess resort.

We leave Punta Cana on the 21st and land in Orlando where we are staying the evneing at the Sharaton Suites Hotel hust off Airport property.

We will be shuttling back to the airport on the morning of the 22nd and will be catching the first Disney Cruise bus to the ship.

We are both very excited and in looking through our Passporter have gained valuble information for our trip.

We have booked a Palo dinner on the fourth night and a few land excursions. I have booked a couples cabana massage at Castaway Cay, without my fiance knowing as a surprise gift...I hope she likes it.

Anyway thats my plans

Can;t wait to see everyone

I booked my Palo brunch and the Dolphin encounter excursion for Nassau. Anyone else make their reservations yet? I am a Castaway Club member but all reservations for those paid in full open up tomorrow. Interested in knowing if anyone has any plans.

Yogi, can I book my Polo brunch before tommrow on line? I am also a CC memeber?
Yes you should be able to. They will go quickly tomorrow. If your paid in full and you still can't get to the reservations call DCL and make sure they have you marked as a Castaway Club member. They had my CC numbers but another field was not check on their end. One quick call and I was able to book everything. Good luck.

Hi there~

There are 18 of us going, only 2 of us, are CC members. Because of that it, the website, would only let 2 of us book for Brunch.

My question is, (never did brunch) what would be the best time for brunch. We booked it for one at 10am & the other one at 12pm. Can you ask Palo to add more people on the reservation?

Thanks for the heads up yogibigdog. When is your family going?

as of this morning, there are still slots open for Palo brunch.

I picked 12:00 so my kids would be all set for lunch in the kids club. I love Palo but I really enjoy eating dinner with the kids so brunch works out great for us. I have heard in the past that there is a private dinning area in Palo for large groups. I am not sure how you book it ahead of time. That would work out great for a party of 18.

:cheer2: I am so excited I just called DCL and check to see if early seating became available and it did! Now my plans are all coming together. I was on waitlist but it can’t hurt to call and double check I am glad I did.

According to the Disney web site, The Santa Clause III opens November 3rd. It should be available to see on our cruise. The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D opens on October 20th. I don't know if they can do that or not.
