Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

Here's a mini-update for you.

I just found some more pictures. These are the only shots we got of the photographer and his mean assistant:

Here you can see the hands as he's telling Arminda how to properly put her hands together:
IMG_0196_640x426.jpg

I can tell by the color of his hair AND the way he holds the camera that he is just a meanie stupid head. :rotfl:

Wow...I don't understand how you had such bad luck with those FGITs... I have seen all 3 of them create magical moments. Daisy is one of my best friends, actually. She has this amazing ability to make up the most random stuff on the spot. I have heard her go on about a chocolate chip cookie tree and penquins hiding in the drawers. I've seen Sandra go out of her way to include a too-young sibling in the make-up and nail polish or put a sash on a girl's doll. Teresa, the 3rd FGIT pictured, has made me laugh many times with the things she's come up with.

I don't get it. :confused3

But you did have Susan...she puts everyone to shame anyway. She has this amazing joy and appreciation for life that I couldn't even hope to emulate.

It looked like she was trying to protect Tessa to me. Oh, that makes me so mad all over again. Little girls should be happy in the magic kingdom!Especially these little girls, who are so wonderful.

I did forget that Sawyer's pictures are great; love that boy's karate moves! And him with Arminda always makes me smile, what a sweetheart!

Awww, thanks Steph, we think they are pretty special too!

LOL! You are so funny!

We didn't get it either. Except for Susan, they barely cracked a smile, especially Sandra. Tessa is an extremely bubbly animated child, and why Daisy barely spoke to her doesn't make any sense at all. She would have LOVED to hear about a chocolate chip cookie tree! That's the sort of thing she loves. They were certainly all of their game on this day though. It makes me happy that every child isn't treated the way our girls were, but it makes me sad to know that every one of them COULD have had these same FGIT and had a wonderful experience. It really doesn't make any sense at all. :confused3

Susan was AMAZING though!!! WOW! :worship: I KNOW that she is a REAL FGIT!!!

We didn't understand it, either. It seemed that they just didn't like our group! As I said in my TR, the only thing Daisy said to Tessa was that fairy godmothers can make glass crocs. That was it...no embellishing the story or anything else. I smiled and tried to encourage her. But, nothing. :confused3 I guess I feel a little worse knowing that these are usually really good FGITs and they just weren't nice to us. :(

Were you there the day we were there (morning of May 4)? If not, maybe you would have brought out the best in these ladies!

I can tell by the color of his hair AND the way he holds the camera that he is just a meanie stupid head. :rotfl:
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: You are TOOO funny, Karen!

Thanks for the mini update!! Glad you posted pics of that guy...so when we go there, if I see someone who looks like him, we will wait for him to go on break or something!!

I'm sorry about the way that the photographer treated your group and that the FGIT's didn't give them the experience that they deserved, but happy to hear that you didn't let it spoil your day. They all looked so sweet/gorgeous/loved in their outfits. I'll bet that you made a lot of people smile that day!

I seriously doubt it was anything personal- maybe they were just having off days. Some moments, we are just not as good as others. You're right that Sandra can sometimes come off as gruff, but she does have a good heart. And I know Daisy has been having a rough time being pregnant, so she isn't always so perky right now either. Maybe she wasn't feeling well?

I wasn't there on May 4th- I was on vacation at that time. I would have absolutely flipped over the Giselle dress and the pink Cinderella dress! I want to hire the seamstress to make them for me! I so want to be Giselle in the curtain dress for Halloween this year. :)

After reading your post, all I could think of was oh gosh, I hope no one has ever felt that way about me! I'd be crushed! I made an even extra effort today to make sure I was always smiling. I usually do subconciously anyway as I'm very aware that I'm constantly being photographed- ha ha. People who don't seem to know how to smile are a petpeeve of mine- like watching people post for pics at WDW with a completely straight face...it's like c'mon people! You're at Disney! Smile!

Sawyer is adorable in the pictures the jerky photograph took of him! I love his super karate moves the best! LOL!

Oh Heather........

We need to know what happened to the sippy cup so Teresa will unveil all the lovely Wickedness you experienced while at 1900 Park Fare! Come on girl! We need you to post your next installment!!!

And besides- I REALLY am dying to know what happened with the sippy cup??? :confused3

Karebear, you are are taking the words right out of my mouth today......Heather -- UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to hurry up and write this installment because Teresa went and posted hers first. We made a deal that we won't read the other's installment until after we post ours and I'm dying to read hers!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of my family had brought lunches into the park, but I wanted to eat at Pecos Bills. Okay, that's not quite the reason...

When we were kids, my parents would never buy us food in the parks. We always had to go back to the car to eat. Yes, lunch time would come and we'd have to get back on the monorail, take the tram, and sit in our HOT car and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (or, more often, turkey sandwiches). It is not a childhood memory that I cherish. I always wanted to eat in the restaurants like the other families. So, I avoided packing a lunch on any day of our vacation, even if we weren't going to go out to the car to eat it. It's just a childhood dream type thing.

As I said, the rest of the family had their lunches already and I wanted to eat at Pecos Bills. So, we got out our 2-way radios and gave one to Teresa and co. We said if we couldn't contact each other on the radio, we'd just meet back in front of Expedition Hall at 3:00, for our 1900 Park Fare ressies. We tested the radios and they seemed to be working, then we headed out on or way. This picture was taken earlier, but here is Tessa using the radio:

IMG_0156_640x426-1.jpg

Hmm...not too sure why I felt compelled to share that picture with you, seeing as how we don't look so good in it and it's not the right time or place for my story. But, I resized it and uploaded it to photobucket, so I might as well take it all the way.

As we were nearing Pecos Bills, look who we saw!

DSC07866_360x480.jpg

No, not the CM in the white Mickey shirt. Look! It's Woody, in front of him! Sawyer and Tessa both LOVE Toy Story, so they were both really excited. Sawyer was gibbering away about it and pointing and such. Woody was teaching the kids how to be cowboys. We missed most of it, but Tessa got to be sworn in.

DSC07867_360x480.jpg

DSC07868_360x480.jpg

After she was sworn in, she turned to me and said "MOM! I'm an official call girl now!!" That's right folks, she's a "lady of the night"! I bet you didn't think they taught classes in that at Disney! :rotfl: She's always said Cowgirl this way and I'm trying to break her of it. She must have forgotten the correct pronunciation in the heat of the moment!

He doesn't look excited, but he really was! He was starting to melt in the heat somewhat, though.

DSC07865_640x480.jpg

There's Jessie, the call girl!!

DSC07870_360x480.jpg

There's....um....THAT guy!

DSC07872_640x480.jpg

We followed behind the crowd and walked into Pecos Bills. I have fond memories of eating at this place when Mom, Tessa, and I took our last trip to WDW. I LOVED the BBQ pork sandwiches. Plus, it was pretty cheap and a cool place to sit. I told Henry what we wanted and I took the tired, overheated, hungry kids (and their tired, overheated, hungry mother) to go sit down.

Easier said than done, it was pretty packed. I finally found a little table tucked back in a corner all the way across the restaurant from where Henry was ordering. We sat down and waited for Henry and our food. And we waited, and we waited....and we waited.

Tessa started to get a bit crabby. I told her that if she didn't stop the whining I was going to take her picture and show it to Luke (her future husband ;)) and my friends on the internet. Since I always keep my promises, here you are.

DSC07874_360x480.jpg

She finally knocked it off so I let her use my camera for a little while. Here is some Tessa photography.

A lovely picture of her mother.

DSC07889_640x480.jpg

Sawyer trying on my super-cool dollar store shades.

DSC07884_640x480.jpg

Hey, that picture seems familiar.

7-06pacifierandsunglasses_640x449.jpg

Corey took that picture of Sawyer with the SAME sunglasses on when he was 5 weeks old!

Okay, now go back up to the first picture of Sawyer with my super-cool shades on. That poor woman in the background was sitting there all by herself, the entire time we were in the restaurant (which was over an hour). I think someone just wheeled her in there and left her. No one ever came to sit with her. :sad2: I still feel kind of guilty that I didn't ask her if everything was okay. She looked happy, but who knows.

Finally, after about 1/2 hour, Henry arrived with a tray full of food and a very irritated expression on his face. Apparently, he would have rather entertained the tired, overheated, hungry kids while I ordered the food. I guess my mind reading skillz weren't in play that day. Personally, I would have MUCH rather been standing in line to order food than sitting on an uncomfy backless chair with some cranky children. He started handing out the food, which was NOT the cookie Tessa had asked for. Luckily, she didn't remember that she had wanted a cookie, so all was well. I gobbled down my BBQ pork sandwich. MMMMM....it was very tasty. Inexplicably, Henry had ordered himself 2 kids meals, along with a hamburger. :confused3: I chose not to comment.

After we ate, I called the family on the 2 way radio. No reply, so I called again, and again, and again. Then, I realized it was making a weird "click, click, static" noise when I wasn't even pushing the button. So, I gave up for now. We meandered around, not sure what to do next. Then, we saw that there was no wait for the Country Bears. This is not my favorite attraction. I'd say once every 5-6 years would tide me over. But, I thought the kids would really like it, so in we went.

Aaaahhh...more air conditioned bliss! Tessa spotted a squished penny machine inside, and burst out cheerfully "A SQUISHED PENNY MACHINE!!!!" She then asked for her "squished penny tube". I had used an empty mini-m&m container and put a sticker that said "Tessa's squished penny money" on it. Then, I filled it up with quarters and pennies.

Unfortunately, the squished penny tube was still packed in our luggage back at the house. Henry and I had 2 quarters between us, but no penny. So, she was kind of sad about that.

DSC07894_360x480.jpg

A childless (at least they didn't have a kid with them) couple nearby saw us rummaging for a penny and looked sympathetically at Tessa. They started rummaging through their pockets and purse looking for some change. I thought that was so sweet that they were going to offer Tessa a penny. I stood nearby, not letting on that I heard them looking for a penny. They found one!!! Then, they went over to the squished penny machine, got themselves a nice, shiny squished penny, and put it in their pocket! :lmao: So much for anticipating a little Disney magic!

Sawyer was getting really sleepy by this time, but he was excited and fighting to stay awake.

DSC07893_360x480.jpg

We only waited a few minutes and then they let us file in for the show. I was surprised when they said "Please move at least 2/3 of the way down the aisle". I'd never heard them say that. It's always "Please move all the way to the end of the aisle." Anyway, Tessa was REALLY excited about the show. The last time we were there, she slept through the whole thing, so she didn't remember it. She couldn't BELIEVE that those animals had stuck their heads through the wall.

DSC07895_640x480.jpg

She leaned over and whispered "Mom, are they real?" Here was my opportunity to dip into the wisdom of "The Great Miss Cammie" (if you haven't read her TR, you really should). I said "That depends, do you believe that they're real?" She said "Yes." So, I said "Well, then they are real. That's Disney Magic." She looked at me and smiled a huge smile, her eyes all lit up and just said "Wow!"

We finally got our magical moment, and it didn't take a crabby 'ol CM to give it to us! pixiedust:

We continued watching the show, and saw the very real Trixie (don't know for sure if that's her name, but it sounds good).

DSC07898_640x480.jpg

Sawyer was clapping his hands and bouncing along to the music. He absolutely LOVED it!!

When the show was over, I tried calling the family again. Still nothing. It wasn't looking good for us to meet up with them before 3:00. We headed over to "Pirates of the Carrot Bein'". That's Tessa speak for "Pirates of the Carribean". It's better than the last time we were here, when she kept referring to it as "Pirates of the Pirate Bean". The sign posted said it was only a 10 minute wait!! So, we ran in! Well, most of us ran...

DSC07904_360x480.jpg

Yeah, he was out. I'm sure Henry was relieved that it wasn't a long line! Tessa was very impressed with the line theming. She decided then and there that she didn't believe in the pirates, therefore they were not real "Because that's Disney Magic, right mom?" lovestruc

There was a very scared looking woman in line behind us. She was worrying that this would be a really scary ride. I know this because I was born and raised an eavesdropper. :listen: She was asking her family (about 10 of them, all together) what kind of ride this was- was it a roller coaster or what? None of them knew, they'd never been there.

Being the empathetic person that I am, I wanted to calm her fears. I turned to her and said "It's not very scary at all. There's only one part where you go upside down and the rest is pretty calm." At this point, she looked ready to bolt, so I quickly told her "No, I'm kidding! It's a very calm little boat ride, it's not a roller coaster or anything." She still seemed nervous, so I told her it was "It's a Small World" with pirates. This seemed to make her feel better and I got the satisfaction of teasing a complete stranger.

We hopped in the boat. Well, most of us hopped in...

DSC07905_360x480.jpg

Yup, he was still out. Tessa was a little afraid, but she handled it well. She was terrified the last time we were there and she was almost 3.

DSC07906_360x480.jpg

Dead men tell no tales...

DSC07907_360x480.jpg

I was excited to see the new additions to the ride since the last time I was there. It's Captain Jack!!!

DSC07908_360x480.jpg

I've got to come clean. I'm not a Captain Jack fan. I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan. But, Captain Jack? Not so much. I've only seen the 1st Pirates of the Carribean movie and only found it passably good.

This guy's foot has fascinated me since I was a kid.

DSC07910_640x480.jpg

It was only after I exited the ride that I realized I wasn't supposed to be using my flash. OOPS! So sorry.

SIDE NOTE: :scared: I was just writing along and couldn't remember what we did after POTC. So, I went to the place where I keep my little book of trip report notes and it was GONE!!!!! Henry helped me clean for Sawyer's birthday party yesterday and I was sure that he threw it away. I even called him at work to ask if he had seen it. He said he hadn't seen it, which I took to mean that he threw it away. But, I just frantically searched the house anyway. I finally found it shoved down in the recliner where I usually sit to write my TR. PHEW! I had forgotten that little nugget about teasing the woman in line above, so it's a good thing I found it! On with the TR.

We tried calling the family one more time after we got off the ride. Again with the "click, click, static." I gave up at that point and just turned it off because the noise was driving me nuts and it was close to 3:00. We started heading up to meet the family at Expedition Hall when we saw that there was NO line at Aladdin's Magic Carpets!! I'd never ridden it before. So, we thought we should get on it since we missed Dumbo that morning.

Sawyer rode in back with Henry.

DSC07914_640x480.jpg

Tessa sat in front by me.

DSC07919_640x480.jpg

She got pretty excited when she figured out that she could make it move with the little lever.

DSC07923_640x480.jpg

Sawyer was slightly nervous, so Henry put his arms around him. Is this a sweet picture or what?

DSC07920_640x480.jpg

I took some arial photos just for you guys.

DSC07925_640x480.jpg

Someone shot me with water right after this picture was taken. It felt like a little blast of Heaven. Check out that woman on her cell phone. Can you tell what time it is by looking at her shadow? If you can, you are super-cool! :thumbsup2

DSC07929_640x480.jpg

DSC07924_640x480.jpg

It was a fun little ride. I definitely liked it better than Dumbo. The kids liked it and Tessa never bugged me to ride Dumbo again.

We headed up Main St where we followed after a very cool looking parade. I'm sorry we missed it. I taught Tessa to princess wave to all the parade watchers. Elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist, pearls, repeat.

DSC07931_640x480.jpg

The whole family was already waiting for us at Expedition Hall, watching the parade. Corey said they saw our stroller parked outside of POTC and they tried the radio. He said it worked fine. Maybe it didn't work for me because they were too far away? We all headed out to wait for the boat to take us over to the Grand Floridian and our dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare.

Barbara, unsuspectingly dressed as a Diser. Is unsuspectingly a word? Well, you know what I mean.

DSC07932_640x480.jpg

My darling nephew who is so cool that he could care less if he looks like a dork in his Mickey ears and Mickey crocs. :lovestruc

DSC07935_360x480.jpg

Casey. What? You think she's a little big for that stroller? It's Disney, we all could have used a stroller!

DSC07937_360x480.jpg

Now for the last in the BBB saga. Arminda's hair fell out of the bun. Yes, it was only 3:00 and Teresa said the bun started falling out at least an hour earlier. So, the stinkin' hairdo lasted all of 1.5- 2 hours!! UGH! Tessa's was laquered up so good, that thing wasn't going ANYWHERE!

DSC07934_640x480.jpg

The boat arrived fairly quickly. Arminda took a picture of me.

PICT0019_640x480.jpg

While I took a picture of her.

DSC07938_640x480.jpg

Look at how cute the girls look sitting in the boat, looking at the water.

Up Next: SAAAAAAWYERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm coming back for you, Sawyer!!!!!!!

OMG Heather- you were most definetly on the cracky me up train today!! I laughed all the way through those last 2 posts!

let me just say now that I've read the little penny thing that happened- I'm gonna have a roll of pennies with me every time I go to WDW- and when I see a little girl looking longingly to her parents for a penny- well, I'm just gonna get that ol' roll of pennies of mine out - and make myself a squished penny!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nahhhhh- not really- I'll give the kid a penny- but nothing more! :rotfl:

"Call girl"??? Now that is precious and hysterical all in one! Please be sure to a copy of this post for her journals. What wonderful memories these are! Looking back on these you will all sit there with tears rolling down your faces from laughter! LOVE your sense of humor.

But girl- we need the Sawyer part so...... keep on keepin' on with posting the next installment.. we're waiting patiently!!!

OOPS! I posted under my old username!

LOL!!! You nut!!!

Great Trip Report!!! I don't remember our pact to not read each others TR until we post our own! Although, I never read yours until I have wrote my own version of the day, so I guess that's about the same thing, right? And, I don't change it after I read yours, so I guess we are good! :thumbsup2

I had forgotten about the radios!!! On ours, we thought we could hear you, but then we realized it was someone speaking in Spanish, Corey could understand them a little bit, but we didn't think it was you! We should have brought our other set of walkie talkies with the sub channels, those work really good.

I had also forgotten about seeing your stroller outside the Pirate Ride! We changed the stations on them at that point, so we wouldn't hear the other people talking. But, I guess it didn't matter!

Ok, I was laughing pretty hard about you teasing that poor lady in line!!! I love it!!! :rotfl2: I also think it's pretty funny that we both teased a stranger on this ride, even though mine wasn't on purpose! :thumbsup2

I am relieved that you didn't actually MAKE Tessa cry. I was worried I was going to have to send you mean flame headed smilies.

It is also nice to see that the diser sistas have both successfully brainwashed their collective children into liking Aladin over Dumbo. Keep sharing THAT little jewel and you might as well be waiting in the Dumbo line!::yes::

I am SO there with you with the grandmas and hot squishy PB&J sandwiches. Mine kept them in her purse :worried:

You guys are SO making me want to write a trip report only nothing halfway exciting ever happens to my family at WDW...unless you count my flipping out b/c we are NOT following MY itinerary:rolleyes1

I also like how you both harrassed unsuspecting POTC riders. It's like you share a brain. EW, that would be weird and gross.

...t.

You had me rolling on the floor reading about your plans with the pennies. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Have you ever wrote a trip report? If not, you really should!!!

Great update!popcorn::

Thank you!!

Sheesh, you forgot our pact. I guess we didn't prick our fingers and rub them together, so it wasn't a REAL pact.

Hey, that was ME speaking Spanish on the 2-way radio, por favor!!

You should have seen that lady's face when I said it only goes upside down once. :stir:

No, I have NEVER made my daughter cry! :rolleyes1

EW!!! A purseful of PB&J (with the crusts cut off)!!!

Hey, you flipping out over people not following your itinerary sounds like a GREAT trip report! Especially if B wrote it! :rotfl2:

That is pretty funny that we both picked on strangers. I had no idea she did that until I read her trip report!
