Doreen's Fresh Start & Success Story! (Welcome Friends!)

Congrats on getting that walk in this afternoon! I'm glad to hear it was a nice day.

Hope you have a great evening! :sunny:

Good morning Doe! I hope you have a wonderful day! :sunny:

:shamrock: Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! :shamrock:

I only have a moment so this will be short and sweet.

I earned smilies yesterday for devotions, pills, exercise and bedtime. I earned half a smilie for water and another half smilie for food. That gives me 5 smilies, right? :p I was just under on my water and I was OP for food all day until I had mozzarella cheese sticks for dinner (49 carbs total). I didn't do bad, but I don't feel I earned a full smilie in either of these areas.

Today will be a very busy workday - no time to hit journals. I'm sending good :goodvibes and a :grouphug: to all.

1. Devotions - Funny how today's devotion was about replacing negative self-talk with positive self-talk. :p
2. Pills - taken. :p
3. Water - almost finished my first mug.
4. Healthy eating - B = yogurt w/ slivered almonds, L will be a grapefruit, snacks will be 2 string cheese and cashews, D is up in the air.
5. Exercise - I have a meeting in another building so I'm counting the walk there and back as my exercise today.
6. Bedtime - 10 PM.

Tonight I head straight from work to the eye doctor's office for my checkup. Then the whole family is going to see the high school's production of Seussical the Musical.

:flower: Kind of short on time myself this morning, so I'm just stopping by to wish you a Happy St. Paddy's! Have a good Thursday, WISH-sis. Friday's coming! :shamrock:

Erin

Good morning Doe,

I was thinking about your devotion this morning (about replacing negative self talk with positive self talk) and I wanted to recommend Joel Osteen's book, Your Best Life Now: 7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential. This is a really, really good book! It has been such an encouragement to me! If you do happen to pick up a copy, please let me know how you like it.

I hope you have a wonderful day today! :sunny:

Someone just handed me a profound quote and I wanted to share it here, with my many courageous WISH friends.

"Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says....I'll try again tomorrow."
- Mary Anne Radmacher-Hershey

Great Quote! I love it! Thanks for sharing!

Have a wonderful Friday Doe! :sunny:

That's a great quote, Doreen, and one I particularly needed today. Thanks!
Enjoy your Friday! :flower:

Keep up the good work and remember to think possitive. It is so easy to go the wrong way. Your list sounds like a great idea....I might have to steal it from you .

:rockband: LET'S PARTY!!

I am exhausted!! This week has gone on for what seems like forever and I am totally and completely drained of energy! I'm ready for a weekend party or at least a long weekend nap! :teeth: :faint: Fortunately we don't have a lot going on this weekend.

Yesterday I earned smilies for devotions, pills, water and exercise. Dinner last night was 2 pieces of cinnamon toast - I just haven't been very hungry lately and I was too tired to actually cook.

I made it to the eye doctor's - my eyes have gotten a bit worse but I can still keep my driver's license. These eye doc visits are always very stressful for me. When I got home, we decided to let DS go see the musical alone (he said it was really good). The rest of the family will go either tonight or tomorrow night while DS is working. I just vegged for the rest of the night.

I have one more day of work and way too much to get done. The highlighted to do list is really helping though. Who knew that something so simple as color could brighten up my day so much!

Today:
1. Devotions - Slow down and linger over mealtimes. Enjoy reconnecting with family and friends while eating slowly. Eating food on the run or gulping it down quickly encourages the hurry-scurry lifestyle, while slowing down and savoring food helps us find peace and simplicity in our lives.
2. Pills - will take them with breakfast.
3. Water - 5 mugs, I'm on mug 1
4. Healthy eating - frankly I've barely got any energy left and food is not a top priority today. B will be yogurt w/ almonds, L will be a grapefruit, snack will be cashews and/or string cheese. D seems like a lifetime away and I have no clue what I'll eat.
5. Exercise - Temps will hit 50 degrees today! :Pinkbounc I'll walk one lap around my building at lunch.
6. Bedtime - 10 PM.

My weight is holding at 152 and my measurements haven't really changed from last week. I took my weight ticker out of my signature and replaced it with my new favorite quote.

Doe - Sending you lots of :sunny: :sunny: and :flower: for a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Next week is a shortened work week because of the Easter holiday. That's always a good thought on a Friday, right?!

Take good care of yourself Doe. You sound so drained today. I hope you get to rejuvenate on your lunchtime walk!! :cool1: And I love your devotion today! If I could only slow down long enough to follow that advise, I am sure it would help me!! I will try at least! ;)

Have a great Friday and a quiet weekend!!

TTFN- Sharon :flower3:

hi doreen--hey me and you are at the same weight :) hehe..just thought i would share that with you!
i am so glad that highlighting is working for you--and heres a stupid tip--when it starts getting boring and not working, just switch to a new highliter color (it worked for me hehe)
have a great, relaxing weekend!

I love that quote!!! You sound so sleepy sweetheart - try to take some time tonight for some rest and relaxation. You know what sounds good for dinner - pizza and a salad - that way you don't have to cook and can come home and be restful for the 45 minutes it takes to get there. Be sure to eat some salad though ;)

~Amanda

Hi Doe,

I hope that you are feeling a bit better this afternoon. Maybe a cup of green tea would help?

I love your quote. I wrote it down, and iti s on my fridge and computer.

Have a great weekend, and do something for yourself this weekend.
Beth

I love your quote!

Best wishes to you for a great (and restful!) weekend! :flower:

I only have a moment or two so this will be quick. Yesterday was a relatively good day and included lots of rest and relaxation, while still managing to get lots done.

I'm feeling better today but will spend the day prepping for this week, along with helping at church and going out to dinner with my parents and my brother & his family. My parents had their 48th wedding anniversary on St. Patrick's Day so we're off to Red Lobster to celebrate! :rose:

Gotta run! Sending love and best wishes to all! :grouphug:

Hey, WISH-sis, just stopping by to see how your Sunday is going. I'm darn jealous of that Red Lobster trip with your family! ::yes:: I hope you all have a great time. I'm so looking forward to spending time with my mom this coming weekend; I haven't seen her for 4 months!

I'm sending you a PM re: travel plans. Hard to believe that it'll soon be time for our Girls Weekend!

 for your day,
Erin

Just stopping by to send you some :sunny: and :goodvibes for your Monday, dear WISH-sis. Be good to yourself.

Love and hugs--
Erin
