Dora's talking house

Mal - Boots is Dora's monkey friend. He wears red boots and goes along on all of her adventures.

Swiper is a nasty fox who tries to steal things from Dora. When you see Swiper, you have to holler "Swiper, no swiping." He says "Oh, man!" and leaves.

Would it were that easy in real life!

Jenn, on ebay, people are selling the entire furniture set, including the bathroom. I'm thinking of trying to buy the entire set and returning the individual sets that I bought. Good luck. I have found Diego at more than one store, so you should be able to get it. Good luck!

Don't return a thing---E-bay is outrageous...We found all the pieces except bathroom and the found the bathroom yesterday (last one, box slightly crushed--but otherwise okay).

All told--we spent $45 on house, $5 per each set of figures and $10 per each set of furniture. Total--about $110-$120. The complete sets before shipping are going for $150 and more--if you have everything--do not take it back, you'll spend more money.

The furniture Media Center, Kitchen and bedroom become available again on December 10th--you should be able to order directly from Fisher Price http://www.fisher-pricestore.com/fpecom/plsql/fp_select.main?id=67249&section_in=PRE_IN . Bathroom and Living Room aren't available again until February 15th.

Sales or no sales--this was poor!!! planning on Fisher Price--I just don't get how they have a gazzillion houses available--but the furniture is completely out of stock. Blows my mind away!!!

DD4 said she wanted it at one point and has since recanted--but we've decided Santa is getting it for her and her sister--b/c the toy is just way too cool to pass up :)

Worse case--I can always e-bay it (how cruel of me ;) )--but I doubt that I will do that.

Boots is Dora's best friend and is a monkey.
Swiper is a fox who ties to "swipe" something of Dora and Boots' on their adventures. :)

I got the Talking Dollhouse this morning at Toys R US for $44.99 and it came with Dora, her mom, papi and a couch in addition to Diego, Boots & Swiper Figures. I guess the house with Diego, Boots and swiper is an exclusive from Toys R Us. I also got the bathroom, media room, bedroom and living room furniture sets, $9.99 each. They had 4 or 5 media room sets but only one bathroom, one bedroom and one living room. They didn't have any of the sets with just the figures only. I was surprised to find the furniture sets there b/c I haven't seen them anywhere.

I actually called 2 TRU this morning trying to find the items. I called one in Iowa because we will be there this weekend. They had 1 of everything except the bedroom. She said she had several of those.

My Walmart and Target are all sold out. Not taking any chances of them getting them in or not. :)

I just checked E-bay and they have all the furniture sets (separately) ... some of course are over priced, but some have a starting bid for $1.00 and less with NO reserve !! good luck in finding what you need !!

I bought two of the TRU exclusive dollhouses last month when they were buy one get one free (one for DD on for DN). Wish I would have known how popular they are i would have gotten a few more to ebay. I have been to every Target and TRU in the area and I have a couple kitchens and bedrooms and one media room. My DD and niece are still little so they won't know that they don't have all of the furniture. Whatever sets I can't find for Xmas I should be able to get for their birthdays.

:teeth:

My Mom just called and she got all of the furniture except for the bathroom. And she got Diego. :)

I will keep an eye out for the bathroom when I am in stores, but I am not going to bust my behind to find it! LOL! ;) :)

Glad that is done!

On Sunday, I got the house, the kitchen, bedroom, media center, living room, diego and Dora.

Today, I found the bathroom, swiper and boots. I had to go to five stores to find them, but I did it! I have the house and all the furniture and characters. PHEW!

(we did it, we did it, YAY we did it) <----- seemed appropriate. :D

This may be a stupid questions, but I am probably missing something here.

My DS wants this he is 2. The picture on TRU.com shows it with some figures and a kitchen, chair and other stuff.

Does the dollhouse come empty? I think it would be okay without that stuff, he is still young and still puts things in his mouth.

Thanks

It comes with Dora, Mom, Dad, and a sofa. The rest of the stuff is sold separately. :)

Thank your for the information, but since he is just 2 I think I will get him the house without the playsets for now. After Christmas I will look around for them.

Good luck to everyone, I hope you find everything you want.:D

I've got a question for all of you Dora Expert Parents. My friend's daugter is 2 1/2 and *loves* Dora. Is she too young to play with this? She doesn't put things in her mouth, but I see the box says they should be 3 years old for this toy. I don't have children, so I don't know if you all follow what the box says or not.

I'm afraid she may be too young for it or it might be dangerous for her. She is very smart (I'm not biased either :p ) and her mom, a teacher, is teaching her Spanish. So I thought the phrases in English and Spanish might be fun for her. Any opinions on whether or not to buy this for her?

There are a few of the smaller accessories that come with the playsets that I might not give a child undetr three, but most of the furniture and the house itself are perfectly safe and appropriate for a 2 years old.

My daughter will be 2 1/2 at Christmas time and I bought this for her. I think it depends on the child. My daughter has a lot of Little People toys too, she doesn't try to put them into her mouth so I am not worried about the Dora house.

Our Toys R Us just stocked up on the furniture--if you are missing a must have item--let me know--I would be more than happy to pick one up for you--PM me (post here to say you PM'd me though).

If I were you Lisa, I would buy three or four complete sets, furniture and figures, wait a few weeks and sell it on ebay.
