Doral Woods - anyone?

okay - so, if we're looking at a villa rental in Doral Woods, I know the distance to Disney is about 20-30 minutes BUT does anyone have experience of staying there and know the distance in time, in reality, of travelling to:
Florida Mall
good selection of restaurants (family eateries, TGI etc)
Premium Outlet Mall
Walmart etc

the villas look great- as we need a villa with a nice large fenced in garden which seems hard to find anywhere else - but we want to be about 20 mins from the major retail areas - is Doral Woods too far out for that?

Hi,

As I said on your previous thread, I have never stayed at Doral Woods and it wouldn't be my ideal choice for location, but everyone has their own preferences.

Restaurants, you are probably 15 minutes or so from the 192 junction, there you are minutes away from Golden Corral, KFC, slightly further up near Formosa Gardens you have Bob Evans, Outback steakhouse etc - basically all down the 192 there are loads of restaurants.

As for shopping - to be honest Julie is the expert on directions, even after many trips I am hopeless, just the driver I guess! - if I was going to the Florida Mall I would either go down the 535 and head for International Drive or drive down the 192 and catch the I4 route. Either way it's 30 minutes drive or so.

Premium Outlets is nearer, but still a good 20 minutes away on south I-drive.

Mall At Millenia, you would need the I4 for that - so probably 40 minutes or so.

...I must stress though I AM hopeless at directions!

One of the things we always look for in a villa is a fully fenced secluded pool, we have never had problems finding one - there are loads at developments I have looked at - but they tend to be at the likes of Indian Creek and Windsor Palms.
You don't tend to find many with 'gardens' as such, this is a picture of the villa pool area at the home we are staying at next year, just gives you an idea of what many are like.
Fenced at the sides with conservation or lake areas at the back.

Realise I am probably not helping much - but I am trying (very!).

We once stayed at Doral Woods. Although it was the best villa we ever hired, with a great pool and a secluded garden, it was way too far out. 10/15 mins drive to nearest restaurants. The nearest supermarket was also a 10 minute drive. It was 25 minutes to the gates of WDW, so 40 to MK. We found it too far to go back in the middle of the day, once we were out, we were out til night. It also made nipping back just for the fireworks impossible.
