Have any DVCers been to the Doral Golf Resort in Miami? I see (or rather DH sees) that it's part of the Concierge collection and he's anxious to try it. Actually, I think he has internal radar that attracts him to anything with "golf" in it. And are there any other resorts in the Concierge Collection that anyone would recommend where there's an emphasis on golf?

Not only is the main resort available through the Concierge Collection, but Marriott's Villas at Doral timeshare resort is available through the World Passport Collection. The Marriott is across the street from the main resort, overlooking one of the Doral's courses. The Marriott consists entirely of 2BR units.

I haven't stayed there yet, but it looks a fantastic resort. Maybe next trip :D

My husband has been to the Kohler (I think that's how it's spelled) resort in Wisconsin for a golf outing. He said it was great.

And the golf opportunities at Hilton Head are amazing. You might want to consider that (beautiful beach also).

Thanks for reminding me-we leave for our first trip to HH 4 weeks from Saturday (3/8). DH is excited to be playing Harbourtown, very expensive, but he said he HAD TO once! I'm excited about the bird-watching.

I think my dad stayed there once, but it was not recently. They do have a good reputation for golf. I believe they have regular hotel rooms and villas. Have you checked out their website?

I think it is doralresort.com

I'm pretty sure they have a pool slide, if you have kids and the spa, etc. The golf course looks amazing.

The run a lot of on-line specials so it may be worth it to check those out before you book with points. You may be able to do it cheaper with cash. Just a suggestion.

Also, there are the suggestions by the other posters regarding good DVC places to golf.

If you have your heart set on Doral, check out the website.

Have fun.

:D I stayed at Doral about 4 years ago. Great place. Fantastic golf course. In fact, I got my every dime's worth on their golf course, hitting about every sand & water trap! Man, he will love it. You will like it too. Rooms are nice. Also, go stay at DVC's property in Hilton Head, (part of the Disney Collection), they have great courses there too!

I eat there often. Its about two blocks from my store. My wife works about twelve blocks away.

we have never stayed there, we live 25 minutes away.
