my twins are turning 4 and we are having a party for them at our home (yeah, I'm insane). should be 10-17 kids, most around age 4 (3 will be 6 year olds). am looking for some fun party game ideas. theme is dora/diego.
I did this when DD8 was turning three! I made a spooky forest, a puzzle bridge and some other things that I can't remember at the moment. I was insane but the kids had a lot of fun. The one smart thing I did was hire one of my DD's pre-school teachers to facillitate the party. That was the best $75 I ever spent! It helped me keep what little sanity I had left.
We did this last year for DD's 5th. I ordered from Oriental Trading(I think) denim drawstring backpacks which was the cheapest backpack I could find. I had my niece dress up as Dora and lead them on a treasure hunt.
When they arrived they decorated a picture frame(white from oriental trading) with foam Dora stickers from Michael's. Then we had Dora come in and show them the map and tell them what we were doing and hand out the backpacks. We took a group picture to later go in the frame.
First game was pin the tale on Boots. They each had a tail in their bag. Then went out the door and had to make it through the field of bubbles. Then we had gotten several of the cheap 4 dollar croquet sets from Wal-Mart and they each had a ball in their backpack. They had to make it through the field of ?? and at the end got a medal. Then they had to make their way along the path till they came upon a pinata. After it broke they had ziplock backs to get out and fill with candy.
They had a blast. I had enlarged and traced pictures out of Dora books to place around the house.
Other ideas is a blow up or stuffed alligator in a small swimming pool with stepping stones around it. Google Dora birthday party ideas and several sites had suggestions last summer when I was planning the party. Forgot where I found it but one mom spent months planning hers and actually had music timed out to play along their hunt. I didn't take that much time.
There are Dora party ideas on the nick jr website. We're having a Dora party for my DD's 2nd, but since she's so young we're not doing anything big. I do plan to have a fiesta theme, with Mexican food (tostitos, cheese quesadillas, lots of fruit.)
Barbie Dress up Games is absolutely a classic game every young girl enjoys. We all had fun dressing up and acting out our barbie dolls as we like with our zone buddies and classmates.
we did a Dora party and did the same as a pp mentioned, the Mexican/fiesta theme (taco bar, chips & salsa, quesadillas, fruit kabobs). I also found a dora pinata at a party store.
We also gave a Dora book to everyone. It was the sharing one, and it is all about friends bringing different foods to share at a party.
