First up, thanks to all the guys n gals who read my first report and sent me messages-hugz and luv to you all.
It's hard to wade through 7 trips worth of memories. Every time Grump and I go I swear blind I won't take as many photos as last year, but by the time we enter that Magic Kingdom or go on the Kilimanjaro Safari, or see Stitch in the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade at MGM or come to that bridge in EPCOT where we HAVE to have our annual piccy with the globe behind us....all my resolve goes out of the window and I start happily snapping away with gay (ahem) abandon. We have just invested in a digital camera-I flee in terror at anything too technological, so Grump has the new fangled whatsit and I have my trusty Box Brownie-so this year we had two sets of photos! Plus it was Christmas, plus we had Universal and Seaworld-so about 400 pics are now waiting for a nice photo album to snuggle into!
Where was I, (you'll have to get used to my rambling butterfly mind, seeking as many tangents and digressions as it can find)-ah yes, 7 years-I mentioned the first trip last time-with the bickering couple, well, less bickering, more psychotic scissor waving Whatever Happened to Baby Jane type of behaviour-the second trip was fantastic. Our first time at a Disney hotel-at the ALL-STAR MOVIES-with giant Dalmatians aplenty- free photo album and Animal Kingdom Mickey/Donald/Goofy sculpture/clock-I could have actually gone home then and there-I love free stuff. Actually I like shopping in general-not clothes (yuk-unless it's the M By Madonna H&M range-but that's another story)-but toys, specifically soft toys-of the Stitch variety.
I have a worrying Stitch shrine in my room-as well as the standard naked Stitch (small, medium and large) I have many other varieties Hawaiian, Santa, biker, Easter Bunny, Vampire, skiing-all I need is that elusive safari Stitch and the one in his alien costume-the one with his four arms. Where was I? Oh yes, shopping-so there’s toys, and pins. Yes, I managed to get the full set of ‘countdown to Stitch’s Great Escape’ attraction pins at the MK-and it only cost me $95! I can barely contain my drool when we visit the pin station at Downtown Disney-much to Grump’s drumming fingered displeasure. Pins make me happy, as does our nightly pilgrimage to Virgin meagastore in DTD, but there seems to be less and less in it every year-doesn’t stop us traipsing over there though, usually through Pleasure Island. Incidentally, it’s an outrage that Superstar Studios has closed down. Grump and I used to visit every year -him being a trained Opera singer, doing All I Ask of You and suchlike (actually, he did My Way a couple of years ago, and when we emerged a heron type bird did a poo on him-he must’ve been perched outside-critics, huh!) and me doing, well, mainly girlie type songs, including a rather fine (if I say so myself) Can’t Stop The Moonlight!
Anyway, the point I’m striving to get to is that Disney shopping is the very best in the world-if you are a Stitch obsessed, slightly shallow diva in waiting. Or even if you’re not, it’s still Simply The Best (he said, doing his chicken walk type dance) More will follow-along with some photos-if a kind soul can tell us how the heck to get em up on site. Thing is, do you REALLY want to see me in my Christmas Stitch ears? Answers on a postcard (or underneath this)
