Has anyone bought through the Doorway to Dreams store at Woodfield Mall? Is there any advantage to going there, as opposed to hooking up with a guide when we're in WDW next month? I assume there's more to see in Orlando than there is in Schaumburg, but I've read that there may be some additional incentives. If you go to DtoD, can you then wait to do a tour at WDW itself?

There were special offers there when it first opened. As far as I know, the promos are the same as in FL now. The models look nice-it shows you exactly what the AKV look and feel like. If you wait until you get to FL, you might get some fast passes or meal vouchers(that is what we got 5 years ago).

The one nice thing about DtoD is that you are not using vacation time to take the tour. It is also easier to take your time to make the decision to buy because of this as well.

When we bought they were giving away 500.00 mall gift cards if you purchased 220 points or more. :thumbsup2

It is also a great way to feel the magic while still in Illinois. You can even pin trade there. :thumbsup2

Do they have DVC stuff you can buy at this store? We are going to be visiting this mall for the first time next week and want to look in on the DVC store and would love a new t-shirt.

Sorry, no items for sale there. They may give you a nice pin though! At least they did last summer...

We just got back tonight from visiting the Doorway to Dreams. It was so neat to see the villa. My son went in and said "Wow, I feel like I"m at home." The lady thought it was cute. We did feel like we were at Disney, I wish we were there! The cast members were so nice! They even gave each of us a pin and coloring books for the kids!

Took my daughter's to Chicago for a long weekend of sightseeing, we were staying at a Marriott in Schaumburg so we walked around the Woodfield Mall
and visited the Doorway to Dreams. We were actually thinking about adding on points and the AKV studio and 1-bedroom with (2) bathrooms. They were beautiful. The incentive deal was the same as the Florida deals.

We have a December Use year so at the last minute, we added on at SSR.
We purchased 110 points which gave us 100 developer points. We also received 110 2006 points and will received 110 2007 points in about 4 weeks. (320 points in our account  ) SSR points are $104/point and we received $ 10 off per point.

If you purchase AKV, you would not receive 2006 points and you would receive $ 8 off per point.

I would call World of Disney at WDW. I bought a t-shirt-hat combo and a magnet at the gift shop at BCV. They also had robes, car magnets, coffee cups, and glasses. You can also get some merch when you use a package from your perks pages. Wine glasses, blankets, etc.
