We received our $200 Disney gift card in the mail today (in lieu of the 4 MP tickets.) :woohoo: We called MS and found out our contracts (We split 250 pts into 2 contracts) closed March 11!

MS said that the cruise voucher and RCI week voucher would arrive two to three weeks after closing. We can't wait! I've already picked the cruise I want to book! :yay:
I'm very interested to find out what the RCI options will be.

Has anyone received their incentives yet?

We got our card today also from the MP tickets not too many wanted! I called the other day and they told me the Cruise/RCI vouchers should be here by tomorrow or next Thursday (max 2 weeks from closing)...we'll see!

We actually took the tickets - 4 - they were $77 seats - so about a $320 value :thumbsup2 We were considering the show any way, so this was fine. The seats are lower balcony for a Saturday matinee in June.

I would have liked the show, but we have 3 kids too young to go! You have to be 5 or older I think to go to the theater-understandably so.

Yay! We got ours today too! :cool1:

I'm hold with DCL right now to book. They asked if I wanted to add trip insurance and I asked how that works with the voucher. They didn't know so now I've been on hold with DCL while they've been on hold with member services for 20+ minutes. :confused3

They are at least very apologetic!

I finally got the answer to the long awaited question that I had about how much it was going to cost us to upgrade to a family suite. Our fifth family member is a 7 month old baby so her charge was $230 something. The total including the upgrade and her charge was $931.08 for our 9/12/09 7 night cruise. So about what I expected--thank goodness!

Darn I forgot to ask about the dining--and probably waitlist for main. Guess I'm calling back!

Starting to investigate the RCI options...

Anyone else disappointed with this? It's difficult to search if you're wide open with which date and destination you prefer. You have to choose 1 month and 1 destination at a time. I'd just like to see a list of everything available.

From the searches I have done, it doesn't look like very much is available. It's definately not like depositing a DVC week and getting choices. If someone has never used a timeshare exchange before I think this experience would sway them to never exchange theur DVC week! (I don't intend to anyway. We'll use our "cheap" timeshare for exchanges!)

BTW, it allows you to upgrade your week. It shows you in advance what else would be available and for how much more. Still haven't seen any great weeks.

Some Hawaii and Mexico in the summer. Central Florida isn't even an option.

Not trying to be a downer yet. I'll keep searching!

I'd love to hear where you all decide to go!

I posted before I had no doubt when I signed that Disney would 'make right' the cruise voucher and the MP tickets. It would just take time. Even yesterday when I booked our cruise it was our woman's first booking so it took forever. Didn't really bother me. I was getting a free cruise that I was going to pay for a few weeks prior to Disney announcing the promo.

The one that concerns me was and is the RCI voucher. I put in more than a few dates/times and nothing came up without paying for the upgrade. Now $250 for a week IS a great price, but I wasn't planning on going to these places so it's $250 I wasn't planning on spending at a place I wasn't planning on going at a time I really wasn't crazy about.

Other than that it seems like a super deal.

We live in Arlington Heights and went to the show in Woodfield. We own 200 points at BLT. :)

Just out of curiousity - what is the "upgrade" stated as being for - and are there no weeks without one? We have not received our vouchers yet, but hope to soon. I do not know whether the contract closed yet, but it should be around now, as I think we sent everything back on the 9th or so.

Did you find anything desirable?

The way they described the exchange was a 2bedroom week. Most I've found available aren't even 2bedroom. I think it's misleading. Why don't they just describe what it really is? I also wouldn't have expected to pay an upgrade considering they described it as 2bedrooms. Being experienced in exchanging with Interval Intl., a 2BDR usually yeilds pretty good choices. I would have bought BLT no matter what and love the cruise and appreciate the GC instead of MP tix we can't use. I just wish they wouldn't have described the RCI incentive to be better than it really is.

Also wish we could search past May 2010.

You can upgrade for more options at the time and location you choose. They state the upgrade fee could be between $50 and $1000. You can see what is available and for how much before deciding to upgrade. Unfortunately, all the times and places I really want to go to don't have anything available even with an upgrade.

'Have you visited DVC.com recently?' Sorry, I've called MS WAY too many times. But if you go on the members site and check your points under both loans and dues payments it will say up on the top in red contract X.X is waiting to close. Once that goes away it should be closed. I called the number that came with my contract and they told me that my 10 day period ended on March 8th and it would close early the following week and by the 10th the waiting to close info was gone from the DVC site.

I'm interested more for something next summer and they're not avail. yet so I was just kinda messing around really. But there was VERY limited availability and what did come up were studios mostly when they were saying a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom in the offer at DTD.

I did find a few places in Canada in Jan. That's like a dream come true! Get away from the winter by going to more winter.

Exactly!
I've found a few warm places in the winter--all Mexico basically. Almost all are "All Inclusives" for which you of course have to pay a fee per person.

Haven't received my vouchers yet. I think ours closed on March 17 - so I am hoping to get those soon.
