Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

HI EVERYONE!!!! I havent been on the boards in ages! but, i have about three weeks till my next trip to the world and am trying to get all caught up! cant wait to buy my next dooney on this trip!

I've been lurking around on this thread for awhile now. I looked at them in DW last year, but just wasn't bowled over by the choices then. But when I saw the pictures on this thread of the leather sketch I was instantly in love. Since I won't be going back to DW until September of next year I wasn't holding out much hope of getting one. Then what popped up on ebay? Yep, a leather crossbody sketch. I jumped on it and got it earlier this week and I really,really love it. The leather is a gorgeous brown and it makes me smile every time I pick it up to go out. So then I saw a picture here of a comic bag with red trim. Pretty, me want.. So I go to the Disney website. No reds there but, but, they have a PINK one. Even better. So I ordered it too during the sale. I really like it too, but I've wrapped it up and tucked it into the closet to use for a summer bag. Now I really would like a couple of wristlets to match my current bags, and the back pack is looking interesting so yeah, guess I've been bit by the bag bug.

I resisted the 25% off sale by telling myself I could pick a great placement on the bag I desire if I wait until I get to the parks next June. I can't wait that long. I have a coupon for 15% off from Disney Visa, plus a GF burning a hole in my pocket.

Now to the question: is there such thing as a "bad placement" on a bag the size of the Buttons satchel? I want that thing so bad, and I really need a present!

I know that there was just a 25% off sale. When do these usually occur? Are we looking at Thanksgivingish for the next one??

I have the Buttons satchel and since it is so big, I think it has all buttons on it at least once. I wouldn't say there would be bad placement unless there's a certain button that you don't like and wouldn't want front and center. As far as the sales, they used to be centered around holidays but lately seem to be very random. I would go for it, since you never know when an item will go out of stock.

The Emporium on Main Street, MK is where I bought mine...they had quite of few. Also at MK across the street from the Emporium had a ton. This store looked like it was actually geared more towards women's items and clothing..so they had the largest selection from what I remember.

Then I seem to remember a store down the path from the UK Pavilion at EPCOT that had a small selection. They were all behind the counter.

Can you tell I was on a mission that Christmas we visited??

I've been wanting a sketch duffle bag forever. I have a hard time justifying $300 for an overnight bag (I wouldn't dream of purchasing this bag without the 25% discount). I was wondering what those that have one, think of if? I know the description gives the dimensions but when it comes to visualizing space..... I suck Can you get 4 days of clothes into it or is it really limited? I go, often, to NH for 5 days (in summer clothes are smaller) or WDW. Will that be sufficient room? TIA for anyone that can help me with my conundrum.

I'd say you should be able to fit 4-5 days worth of summer clothes as long as you're not an overpacker. I dragged it through the airport, and it does get heavy on your shoulder so beware of that. It wouldn't be an issue on road trips though. It held up great being shoved into the overhead bin and through security scanners.

Hi everyone! I posted a few months back about getting a Leather Disney Dooney bag. It's the large leather sketch and I absolutely adore it. I had a few questions that someone here may be able to help me out with. I'd really appreciate any advice.

So, this is my first leather purse of substantial size, I have a smaller leather Dooney handbag that I also love, but it's really quite small and made of a heavier leather so I don't feel like I've been as wary of stressing the material it's made out of.

Okay, so the question is, does this look like normal wear and tear/leather being used/whatever you would call it? I've owned it since early June. If not what can I do to better take care of my purse that in a dream world I would have forever and ever and ever!!??

I dunno, maybe I'm being hyper sensitive about it, the pictures don't look that bad, but there's definitely noticeable marks here and there. It was a gift, and I love it, and I just want to take proper care of what I feel was an expensive purse! Thanks so much in advance for any and all advice!

For some reason your pics aren't showing up for me, but I was able to right click and when I open them in a new tab they are visible. I would be pretty sad if it were me - that does seem like a lot of the finish has worn off on the corners. If it were me I'd probably contact D&B about it and see if they have any suggestions since it's only a couple of months old. The leather sketch bags are gorgeous, seems like they should hold up better than that.

I also go a CC holder (because what's another 15 bucks when you've blown $200+) and I wound up with 2 Mickeys which absolutely made my day.

Congrats! That is a nice bag! I love the style but I think it might be too big for me even though I do own some really big bags. The thing about the satchel style in the buttons print though is that you get most of, if not all of the buttons. I got the buttons crossbody before the satchel was released. Haven't used it yet though. I wanted a full Thumper and full Splash Mountain button. I got a full Thumper but the SM is slightly cut off.

Anna just to let you know that I checked during the last two ds.com sales and they did not have the weekender on sale during that time. Hopefully they will be listed during the next sale. I too have a hard time paying the regular price for the bag. Good luck in your search.
