Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

I understand completely. I know I've commented on this before, but I'll repeat myself. I picked up a sketch wristlet for DD in 2010. We were at WDW over Valentine's Day and I wanted it to be her Valentine's Day gift. It was me, DD and DH. Seemed like they were harder to come by then and one of the few places that had them was the Grand Floridian, so off we went to the GF (until false pretenses, of course). DH distracted DD (she was 15 at the time and certainly no idiot - harder to distract) while I literally grabbed a wristlet and quickly paid for it. She was THRILLED with it. Me, not so much. Because once I get home and I really get obsessed with the whole Dooney thing, I hear all this talk about PLACEMENT! And sadly, the placement on her wristlet is not good. It bothers me. A LOT! She doesn't know the difference. I'm trying to get over it. But as you know, Kathy, I don't like upside down Minnie Bows either. And I've learned my lesson. So the moral of my story is, I'll be more careful with placement in the future, but once I have it, I'll try not to obsess about what might have been.

What kind of wallet/card case does everyone use in their crossbody bags? I feel like everything I find is too big and takes up the whole bag or it's so small that cards don't fit in the slots.

I figure I need something that will hold a little cash, 1 credit card, room key, AP, tables in winderland, Visa rewards card and maybe a couple of gift cards...I bought a little wallet in Lord and Taylor but now I'm not sure if it's really the right thing and it was more expensive than I'd like (especially without a mickey on it).

Are you talking a letter carrier, or the messenger? I only have the messenger, but I've used a Vera Bradley mini zip wallet, or clip zip ID case. The clip zip is tiny and I find it difficult to get cards in and out but it works out okay if I don't stuff too many bills and change in there. I like using that because it also slides into my wristlet easily if I just want to grab that instead of a bigger bag. I like that I can clip it to my purse for extra security.

I must , I mean I MUST stay off ebay. As I already confessed to catira, I was perfectly happy with my bucket bag and thought it was perfect then I saw one on ebay I "thought" was even better. I was going to pay more money for it. Then I realized that I will always see one that is better. So I really looked at mine and realized it is perfect and great and I am going to be content and grateful for it and stop looking at other bags. I am also going to love it and find it even more special because I acquired it from a discussion friend. Thanks catira. You helped me more than you know by your understanding. I love this discussion board and all my fellow addicted friends.

I'm glad you kept it - I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you start using it. I need to stay off of eBay too. I was watching a couple different bucket bags this weekend and had a problem with my internet and MISSED bidding right at the end. They both had great placement and ended at really low prices too. Is it sad that I was so sad about it?! I ended up buying a large Sketch instead.

I really like the size! I was afraid it would be too big, but it will be perfect for day trips and as a carry on. I took a couple more pics of it with other bags to show a size comparison. If anyone is interested I'll post those as well...

What's this about the bows? Are some of the Minnie print ones upside down?!

I got a Vera Bradley id case, it has a clear id slot on the outside, it sips open and holds about 6 cards, I just put bills in there since it zips up.

To me it is perfect.

I also use the Vera Bradley ID case. I actually use mine inside my wristlet so that money and cards don't slide around. I am hoping to add to my Dooney collection this Christmas since I have been eyeing the Dream crossbody for some time and I am planning to use it inside the crossbody...should I get one.

I got the comic satchel today and I think it is even cuter than I thought it would be I posted pics of the front and back and with it on my arm and on my shoulder with the strap on the fb page. The purse is not as big as I thought it would be, perfect size, and the strap works great on the shoulder. The strap is adjustable so you can put it where you want to. Let me know if the pics are not helpful and I will do more tomorrow. I will learn one of these days when I have a lot of time to put pics here.

I would love to see them! I have been feeling the itch lately to get a new Disney Dooney, and I think it's about time for me to scratch that itch

I have been thinking of getting a bag in the white sketch pattern, but haven't decided which one. I was looking at both the large and medium totes, but wasn't quite sure about sizing, so your pictures would be very helpful. Thanks!

I don't have a medium Sketch - but I have the Mickey Wonder tote which is a little bigger than that if I recall. Here's the large Sketch along with the Wonder tote and 40th messenger:

Yes. I was bidding on the pouchette on ebay and the more I looked at it, the more I didn't like it because SO many of the bows were upside down. DH thought I was being a little obsessed, but after my learning experience with the sketch wristlet, I knew I wouldn't be happy with it and was relieved when I was outbid.

The larger tote is my go-to for traveling and having in the back of the car for my ipad, etc. It holds alot!
My favorite out of those above is the black wonder, it's the perfect size.

Nope

The White DCL Sketch bags come in:

Duffle
Large Tote
Medium Tote
Tassel
Wristlet

But the wristlet is the only thing you can get in red, yellow, and blue.

FWIW, finding good placement on any of the wristlets can be a challenge, but I think it's easier on the colored wristlets because the pattern is a bit smaller on them than on the white ones.

Thank you for the info and the heads up on placement on the wristlets. I so wish when they made them they would think about the placements. I know it would be wasteful of material. But a Disney/Dooney lover can always dream.

No problem - the large tote would be too big for me to use as an every day purse but should make a great all around tote and a carry on for trips. If you're looking for more of a purse size in the white print the medium would probably be great...but everyone's idea of purse size can be different.

I was at DLR today, and a couple places had the 4 styles of the comic pattern. Red trimmed satchel, Pink trimmed barrel, Black trimmed mini barrel, and Light blue trimmed wristlet. I caved in and got the mini barrel. It's so cute. It's just the right size to put on my shoulder and tuck under my arm. I came really close to getting the red satchel also, but there were too many new Ariel shirts I had already bought today, dang those new shirts they keep coming out with! I'm going back again in a couple weeks, so if the satchel is still in stock I may have to get it. But I have too many and some I've only used a couple of times. But the addiction needs to be fed. You ladies know what I'm talking about....

What color did you buy? I don't think we have seen the pink trimmed barrel bag. Definitely understand the need to get another Disney Dooney :0)
