Here is my three-bag collection (original sketch, tonal letter carrier, and the messenger). For the pp, the messengers are $255.

Thanks for the info about CA. I was going to buy a Harveys bag awhile back and got a little freaked out by the warning so I didn't. Recently, I saw the warning and the DB bags and wondered if mine were going to kill me.:rotfl2:

The only one who is going to kill me is my dh if I buy another one and I am dying for a DL55! I will have to save my pennies!

Hawky7, THEY CAME!!!!!!!!

I LOVE everything!!! Oh my goodness sake!! The hat is WONDERFUL! But I honestly not sure if I love the hat or the box more!!!:lmao: My Dooney wristlets are adorable!!! My daughter and I both LOVE them!!!

Thank you!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Now I want a messenger.

You are sooo very welcome!!! :goodvibesI know exactly what you mean about the hat box!!! Gorgeous right?? And it matches the new dooneys!!! I love it! You should have seen the look on my face when I saw that they had some left, the cast member was like what, what is wrong, and I'm like Ohhh myyyy ggooosshhhh, I thought these were completely sold out! She had 6 left and I bought 2 :) made my whole day! I knew you would love them! You seem to get my DL obsession, so I knew you'd be just as excited!!! Yay!!!:yay:

Uhhh yeah what everyone else has said. California is required to put it on basically everything!! They have it on walls in hotels, in parking garages, I'll admit the first time I saw it, I freaked, then we lived in San Diego for a year about 4 yrs ago, and it's on everything...so don't worry. Cali is crazy like that. And yes the Boy who cried wolf is a perfect representation of the whole causing cancer thing!!!

Thanks for all the responses I did not know that CA was like that I have never been and NY hides just about everything. So when I see a warning like that I assume it must be bad, since we have no warnings on anything!!!

Almost everything here in CA has that warning. It's like the boy who cried wolf, hard to take seriously. I might be concerned if I were planning to ingest my handbag. The greater issue is probably with the workers in Mexico who handle the chemicals.

So true, couldn't have explained it any better. ;)

OK, I'm back with my Disney Dooney report, as promised.

Hawky7 was 100% correct when she suggested sticking with Vault 28 for your Disneyland DB shopping if you want to pick out specific pattern palcements.

World of Disney had DL 55 bags in a display case today, so I asked a CM if I would be able to choose one that "spoke to me". She looked at me like I was crazy and said she'd be glad to get one from the back for me, but it would be sealed in plastic and wrapped in tissue and none of the packaging could be removed before purchasing it. :confused3

When I got to Vault 28 I made sure to mention how much I appreciate their shop and compare policy on DB bags. Another lady heard me, and she said she found a bag with the exact placement she wanted at a store in Disneyland, but the CM told her she couldn't have it; she would have to buy one that was sealed, because no one who spends that much money on a handbag wants other people touching it. She told the CM she would much rather buy the display bag, even though it had been handled, and know she was getting a pattern she liked, than spend that much money on a mystery bag... but it was a no go.

What do you guys think?

Personally I guess it would be kind of nice to get a bag no one else has handled, but not if it means not being able to check out the pattern placement.

The stray letter carriers Vault 28 brought out today were wrapped in plastic, and I probably could have picked one out without unwrapping it, although the big sticker on the back didn't help; of course I didn't have to since they unwrap and display them. But no trying to pick one out through plastic and tissue.

Uhhh - wasn't the purse handled when someone at the factory PUT IT IN THE PLASTIC??

Good point :rotfl:

Honestly I think the policy probably has more to do with crowd control than with concern over folks getting an absolutely pristine handbag. ;)

If you didn't like the placement on the wrapped bag once you unwrapped it, couldn't you keep exchanging those bags for one that you liked?

Sadly, the customer is not always right when at Disney. I guess it went away when the extensive training they used to give went to the wayside.

The messenger I got for someone was totally a Display bag!!! She looked at me more weird when I told her I wanted 3 more from the back to compare it to!!! And when she said, well what are you looking for I just looked at her and go, not sure, I'll know it when I see it! HAHA, then of course the display one was the best, it hadn't been on display even the entire day, so I took that one. And I also opened all the other plastic bags. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard... Maybe a bunch of bitter cast members, not sure, but I didn't run into any of that when I bought the last messenger at the Watch Store on Main Street.

I do wonder if it had something to do with it being at World of Disney, since they are SOOO insanely busy compared to the other stores...I have no clue, I'm just grabbing at anything I can come up with them to treat you like that. So sorry!:sad2:

Does anyone know or have Disneys item number for this one? I thought I had found one to buy but now it's apparently gone.

I got an email from Disney to call and order direct but they're talking about the wrong purse (pink/Green Minnie one) so I wanted to get the right number before I call.

Thanks, I'm so beyond frustrated over this stupid thing......

Yep, probably not much they could do about it since I'm sure DB bags fall under the same return policy as everything else, I didn't try it though.

I talked a CM into letting me take a display bag too. It was last week at Vault 28 though, and they definitely seem to be much more understanding about nutty Dooney shoppers there. ;)

The lady who was telling me about her park shopping experience said she bought a bag earlier in the week at the same store (Disney Clothiers) and they had no problem pulling out several for her to choose from then, but they wouldn't budge today. I honestly don't know if it's official policy (although the CM at WoD made it sound like it was) or just cranky CM's. Of course you're right that those are both big, busy stores. Maybe smaller shops would be more flexible.

If anyone happens to be shopping in the parks this week you should try it out, see what answer you get, and report back. It could be a little Dis board experiment. :thumbsup2

I think that the majority of people would rather have a choice of placement, than a wrapped bag . . . but, that's just my opinion! I'm sure that it is a pain for the cast members with each person probably wanting to see a few designs; but hey, these purses are a couple hundred dollars afterall! I think that you did a great job picking out your bags, cats mom . . . exactly what I would have done! :thumbsup2

Are they doing the same at the DL stores for the other bags? I want to get a new sketch and have to see the placement of course.

I imagine if you politely asked for a manager, or got loud enough if politely didn't work, someone would let you look at a bag somewhere. Or now that someone else thought of it, I go for buy it unwrap it, then return it and start over :)

I am truly amazed how much in love with it I am!! I can't believe they sold them out that quickly!! You bought them on July 17th, right?!! I am SO SO happy! I almost feel like I was there!:goodvibes Isn't it funny how good it can make you feel, when you go through the gates of a Disney park? Heck I even tear up when the plane lands and I know I'm almost there!!

I want to go somewhere tomorrow, just so I can show my wristlet off! I love that it is lined! I was very disappointed that my sketch 1 Cindy was not!

Oh, I almost forgot. You can register your sketch bags, even though they don't have a card. Go to the site, enter the info from the tag inside the purse. It worked for my daughter and I!! For all of our bags!

If you didn't like the placement on the wrapped bag once you unwrapped it, couldn't you keep exchanging those bags for one that you liked?

Or take it still wrapped to Vault 28 and exchange it there, so you can pick the pattern you want!

ughhh that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard! you cant buy the display bag??? they cant unwrap another one for the display??? LAME! I work retail and the customer is ALWAYS right :wizard:

At WDW my daughter wanted to buy a display sketch 1 bag and they refused to sell it. She had to give them her name and cell number so they could check with merchandising. They said a big fat NO!

So I had planned on getting the sketch tote but I think Id rather go to Dooney Outlet in Orlando and get another every day Dooney BUT Im going to get a pink or purple sketch wristlet to take to our Narcossee and Cali Grill dinner in Sept.. Or maybe yellow or blue..i cant make up my mind! I think that would be perfect to carry my KTTK card, cash, ID and Credit Card and lipstick in for our signature dinners! How much were they? Im dying to just order them but I want to see them and pick one out..Hoping to get one of those receipts with the 20% off Im a bit of a sale/coupon queen..lol
