Don't ya just love watching Airline???

That show cracks me up....it's also the reason I fly United!!! :rotfl2:

I love to watch it too. Dont know why, but I love shows like these. Househunters is another favorite of mine. I dont know these people from Adam, but watching them catch a flight or buy a house is entertaining to me?!

I really love that show. It amazes me how rude people can really be. I think the employees are great, but the customers are terrible. If Southwest was available in Atlanta (the closest airport is in Birmingham, Alabama), I would definitely ride Southwest! It is a funny show!

I was a flight attendant for Southwest for 8 years. I have made my entire family watch that show so often....to make them understand why I wanted to quit so badly. My mom just shakes her head and says, "I had no idea."

It is really funny, though....but, for me it brings back a lot of memories....sometimes, too many!!

I love that show! I just can't believe the way some people act and then they think they deserve to be treated nice and given something for their troubles. I can't imagine talking to someone the way people talk to the SW employees that way...and they still expect good service from them after yelling and cussing at them..amazing. Or how about how many people are just hammered trying to get on the plane. that is funny! :rotfl2:

For awhile, I always seemed to get this trip that included a flight from Burbank to Las Vegas on Friday evening. There was this one pax who boarded every week. She was older...I'd say early 70's, and she had lived a hard life of drinking and smoking. She always had a few drinks in the airport (or, on the way to the airport) and wanted to get a few more on the flight. Because she had caused problems in the flights a few times, SWA had a standing agreement with her...she could fly us, but she couldn't drink while on our flights (I guess she got pretty mean when she drank too much).

Every week when they carried her up the stairs, I would say, "Ma'am, you understand that I am not going to be serving you alcohol on the flight today, right." She'd say, "Right, right...I know the rules." Well, as soon as our wheel lifted off the ground, she'd hit her call button. When I went over to her, she'd say, "Bring me a double bourbon!". I'd remind her of our agreement, and she would say, "Just send another waitress over here...I don't like you....you're fired!!!" She'd eventually ask all of us, and all of us would get "fired".

Then, the next week she come back on and try it again. As she'd see me, she would say, "Well, hello sweetie!!! Good to see you again!! But, I'm confused...didn't I fire you last week?" I'd reply, "Yes ma'am, you did." She'd just laugh, and say, "Well, it's good to see you again." Then a few minutes later, she'd fire me all over again.

She was a riot!!!

My dh and I love that show! I think it's funny when people show up 5 minutes past the departure time and then get mad because the flight left on time!! Some of the people I just feel so bad for though.

DH & I love that show, and we always fly SW. Of course, we don't hit the "baaaah" before a flight (then again, we're not afraid of flying like that particular gentleman from the East Coast), we always check in early, and we never try to bring turtles on the plane with us! :rotfl2:

DH watches and says, "why don't these people realize there are rules at airports?" :confused3 Of course, one time my brother was bumped from a flight after he showed up late--but he's a surgeon in the Army, and he couldn't get away! People like him, we feel sorry for, but again, what's SW to do? They can't hold the plane for someone, no matter what the reasons are. Bro did show up before the plane left, but they'd already given his seat to a standby. It happens. Just like drunks happen, mean people happen, and SW customer service people just keep trying to stay calm!

I always laugh when people have seen the show and say "That's why I won't ever fly Southwest." Just about every situation they show is caused by the passenger's own stupidity. Sometimes though things happen that are just out of the airline's control. This happens on all airlines.

I give Southwest a lot of credit for showing this stuff. I remember one time they had a woman in a wheelchair who missed her flight, and her husband was upset because their luggage was on the plane that left and his wife's medicine was in it. Duh! You're not supposed to put that stuff in checked luggage. Always carry on your medication. People like this annoy me. They blame the airline for things that are not their fault. I give ALL airline employees kudos. They put up with a lot of sh*t.

I am usually rolling on the floor, laughing my head off when Airline is on. What are some of these people thinking? and do they realize that their idiotic comments are going to be shown on cable television? I do believe they have to sign waivers in order to be on the show.

The thing that amazes me the most is how every customer blames his/her problem/situation on SWA....like not one of them are at fault. Its a laugh riot.

The people I feel bad for are usually the elderly ones. I remember one man that had a suitcase full of roaches and he had NO clue they were there. He was kind of mean and nasty but I still felt bad for him. They were very accomodating with helping him though. I can remember another show where one of them helped clean up an elderly person (I think a man but can't remember) after they had an accident. I think the wife was having a hard time with him and was kind of breaking down and overwhelmed with the whole situation. The SW employee went above and beyond the call of duty on that one!

Where can I see it and when does it air?

USA Network, Mondays at 10 and 10:30 PM - and occasionally at other times during the week.

Funny thing, though -- I recently flew Song, and they did seem to hold up the entire plane for me. I checked in with a Skycap and requested a wheelchair. Got the chair, but nobody came to push me :/
Finally, a TSA supervisor started wheeling me through security - and sure enough, I set something off! So, now I need to be patted down. No problem, I'm being VERY understanding about it - while the agent is trying to explain the procedure to me, I'm telling her my flight leaves in thirteen minutes(!), please do whatever she needs to do, and of course I'm pleasant and smiling through the whole thing.

While this is going on, an airport employee finally shows up to help me. We gather my stuff, go down the elevator, across the concourse, up another elevator and through the terminal - where I can see the ONLY two people still in the terminal are the Gate Agents. How do I know I'm holding up the flight, or rather that Song is holding it for me (since they knew I was checked in)? Well, one of the Agents addressed me by name :teeth:

If I'd been flying Southwest, the plane would have been gone.

Not necessarily....we held planes for people many times. If SWA knows you are in the airport, and just having difficulty getting to the plane, they will hold the flight.

While I was working there, we delayed quite a few flights because of backups at security, waiting for transfers from a delayed flight, or if a pax was having a difficult time (needing assistance) to get to the gate. Who knows, at SWA it might have even been the captain or first officer who came to get you!!

In spite of SWA being the airline that is SERIOUS about on-time departures, they really do try hard to help those in need. I think the one thing that makes Airline work is that SWA IS always nice and courteous, and always goes above and beyond to help passengers.

I have helped clean up MANY elderly passengers who could not make it to the bathroom. I even assisted one man who could not get his pants undone (not my favorite moment....but, you do what you have got to do). I have cleaned up way too much throw-up (which was especially hard when I was pregnant), and held many crying unaccompanied minors on board the plane. All while serving the other 46 passengers on the plane. I lifted bags into the overhead bins for those who could not lift them, but refused to check them. I have had to refuse service to hundreds of people who wanted to get drunk on the way to Vegas, and held their hands while they threw up on the way home. I've had to call the police on people smoking "illegal" substances in the plane, and would usually get yelled at (or, at least "told off") for situations beyond my control on a daily basis. The starting salary for a SWA flight attendant was around $13,000 per year (it is a little higher now, but not much). I worked EVERY Christmas and Thanksgiving for eight years, and would sometimes leave on the 23rd, not to return until the 26th. Flight attendants can be gone on a 4-day trip, only to reach the airport and be told that they MUST go right back out, even though they are scheduled to be off...this would happen quite a bit around the holidays. They are also required to keep a current phone number on file, and if the company calls and tells them they need to come in on a day off....they must come in, or they are fired. I had a friend who was called in on her son's birthday when she had 40 friends and family members descending on their house. She came in....crying.

Fortunately, I was on maternity leave on Sept 11. I had several friends who were "stranded" in hotels for a couple of weeks after the tragedy. It IS a really hard job...both physically and emotionally...and yet, SWA employees keep smiling and doing their jobs with grace and dignity...some for minimum wage.

Airline would not work if the employees were less than stellar...this includes waiting for passengers whenever possible.

The show airs on A&E usually on Monday at 10:00 and 10:30pm and on Wednesdays at 8:00 and 8:30am

I just love that show. Can you believe some of the stuff that people do on that show?? Stupid is as stupid does. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We flew Southwest for the first time this past September. I have always been a fan of the show Airline and I have heard nothing but good things about SW from fellow employees (I work for their insurer.) BUT before my trip I became totally paranoid that I'd be asked to pay for two seats because I am overweight. I was literally worrying myself to death. LOL I had a friend who made a bet with me that they wouldn't make me buy two seats, and sure enough I fit in one seat and nobody told me I was too fat to fly. LOL

The thing I liked most is that they allow families with small kids to board first. It made things less stressful for us.

---We love it as well
Living in Md we fly out of BWI anf I play paintball and travel to LAX & MIDWAY so if I see those on the show all the time I say HELLO put us ON.

The stuff we go through with our Markers ( GUNS can't use that term anymore)and our airtanks with TSA changing the rules all the time we should be on the show.

Nothing better then telling 15 guys their $2000 worth of toys can't go on the plane or even worse when they let you fly out then on the trip home they say you can't do it now.
By the way we also fly to MCO 2 times a year and play at WWoS in April and OCT.
