I suspect only people staying on Disney property will be allowed to enter the parks for a while.
I think it is more complicated than breaking even. I believe that the first priority is to lose less money. If the parks and resorts are open and the losses are smaller than Disney will have bought itself more time to turn the corner. That said, I believe that Magic Kingdom could hold 8,000 to 10,000 people social distancing would still be very easy.Where do you think the costs associated with having the parks open break even with the revenue generated form having them open with a cap on attendance? Can Disney turn a profit at current prices with attendance reduced to 25% capacity? That's certainly going to be part of the equation in determining park opening date.
I absolutely agree with this. Resort guests only for the first few months until much more is known.I suspect only people staying on Disney property will be allowed to enter the parks for a while.

Our state is starting to open up Friday, and I can’t wait. Everyone still needs to be smart and take precautions, but it is time for life to go on for those who wish to venture out. Those that don’t can still safely shelter in place.
And the OP said 10,000 families, not 10,000 people. The DVC moonlight magic events are capped around 12k. The park seemed empty until you got in line for 7 dwarves mine train and other popular rides. It's not the total number in the park that worries me, it is the impossibility to social distance in the haunted mansion!
We did an after hours event at magic kingdom last year. We went in the haunted Mansion. There were a total of 8 of us in the stretching room. It was so quiet we could hear the narrative from the other room. Would have had no issues social distancing! The DVC moonlight magic events are capped around 12k. Lots of junk science here. If you don’t want to go, don’t. I’ll be there, unless lots of silly rules and regulations of questionable value that ruin it.
How do you social distance on a roller coaster where you are literally breathing the air of the people in front of you? One family per train? That would wreak havoc on lines no matter how reduced capacity is.I think it is more complicated than breaking even. I believe that the first priority is to lose less money. I don't think any theme park can social distance. We will have to be at a point where masks are enough. If both people are wearing masks than you don't need to be 6 feet apart. Kids won't be licking hand rails or windows, and it will be more sanitary.
To be honest, if they let enough peeps in to where the park is crowded, there would be no reason to have things closed.Although we have been to DW 10 times, I am hesitant about attendance, if the park is not fully open. I know attendance normally would be at a 7 or higher out of 10. I think 5 out of 10 this year would not be an underestimation.
Being respectful of each of our right to choose, but not knowing of their situation, I would certainly respect their decision. We can certainly remember when times were great, and when they will be again! To be honest, if they let enough peeps in to where the park is crowded, there would be no reason to have things closed.
