Hi all, our trip Feb 12-Feb 18, wonderful. Even w/ the wall infront of the Castle still great, the wall was not that bad, great view of the castle and able to watch the show and parade just fine.

Anyway Photo pass....don't trust it! Our first day in MK we had a traditional main st. photo, and was given our first photo pass card. We used it two more times w/ character shots. Used the same card in AK, and Epcot w/ no problems. HOwever all or MK pics are "lost". I contacted Disney through the photo pass web site, they took a description of our family, what we wore, what time we went throught etc. but could not find any of them. I have ordered our other prints at the other parks but am so dissappointed about our pics at the MK. The kids will never be that age again and w/ those characters. Anyway I would say buy them at the end of the day the old fashioned way, not worth the chance! I do have some of my own w/ my camera, but not all of them! I just recieved a coined apology, that was all. :sad2:

I think the pics can be lost regaurdless of when you look at them (in the park or at home). Of course, if you're still in Disney, you can have them reshot. I'm sorry you're pics are MIA, that's really too bad. I guess you shouldn't put all your memories in one picture.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. It is new, so maybe they'll improve on it.

Some tips for those who haven't used it yet:

Mark the back of the card when you first get it to identify it from other cards to be sure and get the right one back.

Copy the numbers on the back to another place so that if the numbers rub off you can still access your photos.

Be sure they scan your card properly...sometimes they don't scan and thus you don't get that photo.

From what photo pass told me it was a problem getting them on the website. Apparently that is when these pics are lost. So I think viewing them before you leave the park and purchasing them then is the best bet. I try to take doubles myself but family shots and truthfully as good as my camera can be it does not get the same shots as the ones taken by the CM's in the park. :rolleyes1

If I went to purchase at the end of the day, do I have an option of getting them on CD disc rather than photo printouts?

Thanks!

I honestly don't know that one, I did buy our photos at AK and they did not offer that option for park photos. I know you can get a cd from a memory/SD card.

Pictures can be lost in the parks as well as online. We went to look at some of ours in the park and they were missing. Of course we had the option of having them redone since we were still in the park, but we didn't. Didn't feel like spending another morning in toon town. We had our own digital camera and those pictures turned out fine.

I'm so sorry to hear about your lost pictures glencoe

Imagine my surprise when I got home and viewed ours only to see another family! It apparently happens when they scan -- the scanner must have NOT loaded the previous family onto their card, then added them to ours!

That happened to us too...when I was getting my picture w/ figment. There would have been some cute ones, but the photographer 'thought' she scanned the card right. I was seriously bummed cause figment is my favorite, and we only got the one picture...thats in my siggy. :confused3

My other pics came out fine and are all there, I guess you have to watch the cm scan the card and make sure you see the green light that it scanned properly. I guess they sometimes don't check. Oh well....I guess we will have to go back soon! :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear that. its such a bummer, cause u want to share your excitement with others and etc. :(

Im so glad we also took pics with my digital cam too.

Same thing happened to me the same week.
I had to send them an email about Lost photos and send pics of what we had on that day at that particular time. Luckily , they were recovered. Someone else registred my number. Don't know how that happened but Im glad they found them.

There are definitely kinks in the system. We got all our photos - but the sorcerers hat was cut off the castle was cut off, some of them weren't framed great. Overall they were okay and served the purpose of getting our family together for a picture....but I will definitely view them before leaving in the future if at all possible. Only so I can have them taken again if necessary.

How quickly do these photos make it online? DH is planning on accessing the internet once or twice while we are there and I wonder if we will be able to see if the photos are up yet?

:rotfl: Sounds like a great excuse to visit Disney again real real soon.

Just going to add, my dh got a new digital camera, and off we went to WDW, I had my pic with my fav character, dd got to be part of the Lion King show, all taken on our camera....

where is that camera? MIA!! Truly, over 7 months now, I was beginning to think maybe it got left on the taxi, or or ... but no, I truly remember looking at the pics at home, and telling dh we'd have to wait to payday to have them printed, and then dh put the camera somewhere... :confused3

I cant tell you the amount of cleaning, and throwing out we've done, to no avail!! Dh thinks the garage may be our next bet... why would he put the camera in the garage?? :confused3

So I've now planned another trip to wdw!! At least I have the memories stored in my mind (and I'm much thinner in my mind!! :rotfl2: )

We also took some special photos at MGM our last day...I had 2 photopass cards....one card the photos showed one didn't....I'm hoping they will show up in a few days...

I had a problelm with using two cards as well. I was able to get the pictures from one, but not the other. I figure they were experimenting with something new so no huge loss for me, heck usually I don't even bother to go look at the pics so not a really big deal to me. It was nice to be able to access pics from home and then buy a few--without the card I would not have purchased any! It is a loss if you only go to WDW occasionally though since the moment is then lost forever.

Sorry to hear your problems...we had photos missing from our cards...we had 2 and after corresponding with the photo pass people they were able to find almost all of them..only 1 was missing. So, while it didn't work for you to have the pictures searched for ...it did for us...

also, it depends on the park and where the photographers are located...some are kodak employees and some are park employees...I've found the ones that are most easily retrieveable are the ones that are not contracted out to Kodak. After talking to a CM photographer....disney is beginning to take over the contract from Kodak.

eeyore45,

I SO sympathize with you because our digital camera has also been MIA since our December Disney trip. Unless it got left at the resort, it's surely in the house somewhere.

I really liked being able to order the pics from home instead of carrying them back and having to be careful about them getting bent up. On the other hand, we probably would have had the pics with Santa retaken if we had looked at them there, since it is rare that we get all four kids to pose in a photo. They could have been better, but I still treasure them.
