Don't really want to pay $$$$ for a stroller

I know Disney's stroller rental prices and I saw Orlando Stroller Rentals, LLC - is that the CHEAPEST way to go. I don't even know if my four year old will use it. Last time I took a stroller but with us trying to surprise our kids, the only time we EVER use the stroller is in Disney. Although I just thought of it - I could tell the kids that when we travel to see the family (our little lie), that we might be going to a fair or a park to walk and they might get tired. That would probably work. Thanks for tips!!

Then don't take one. Your youngest is 4. Thousands of 4 yr olds walk the park and you have other children also, it isn't like she is trying to keep up with 6 college kids. Mine walked at 4 and it has only been recent yrs that you would see older kids in strollers.

I wouldn't take one and if she absolutely needed one on a certain day I would just rent for that day.
save money and keep the surprise. And you'll love how freeing it is to not have one to deal with!

The cheapst option is the $45 stroller they sell at the stroller rental centers. It is a decent umbrella and would likely get you by. I would not do in with a 4 year old and no stroller. The way we tour DD wold have never made it all day every day for a week at 4. We go rope drop to close most days, and with the stroller to get a rest every now and then she was happy to do so. Even this year at six she only made 2 full days before we needed it. She is a fit and active little girl who dances at least 3 hours a week, but her legs are shorter than the rest of us, and she gets tired quicker. Having the stroller meant that everyone was happy and comfortable.
ETA: We bought a mclaren volo on ebay for about $60 for this trip and loved it!

I second this!! We bought the stroller the pp mentioned and it was well worth the $$. Saved us a lot of $$ renting and we've actually used it a lot.
My kiddos like having the stroller. At 4yo, I would not have wanted (or expected) them to walk all day...'cause we do long days.

If you buy the Maclaren (or even a Chicco, which has been seen on clearance at BRU for $50 around these parts), you can resell it on Craigslist with a week's worth of wear and get almost all of your money back.

I am purchasing a used one off of craigslist this weekend. I know my daughter and with as much walking as we're going to be doing she will be whining by the end of the day that she's tired. So I decided to purchase a combi off of craigslist and will then sell it when we get home.

I am a fan of the disney ones.... and my kids arent' even little anymore but to me they have been "priceless" in making our days smoother, then cooler, less sunburn, keeping them safe(as I dont' take daddy to disney, so two less eyes to watch them), ect..... I always give up something else(character meal, did photopass shares to save) to pay for the stroller. I really feel they made a significant difference in our trips. I used them until my youngest was 7.

magic strollers seems to be a little cheaper than orlando strollers, and they include a parent tray and raincover (which are extra with orlando).

If you rented one from Orlando Stroller Rentals, they wouldn't see it until you were at the resort (they deliver and pick up from the resort). So, you could still have the surprise.

We had a stroller for our newly minted 5 year old, and I wouldn't have gone without one. You know your kid, though. My older DD might have been fine at 5 without a stroller, but not my younger DD. I still would have brought one though - I would rather spend (waste?) the money than be stuck with a tired, cranky 5 year old.

There are some times that you will be happy that you have it - at the end of the day when everyone is tired and you have to walk from your bus stop to your resort room after Epcot's Illuminations (at 10:30 pm), in the heat (when are you going?), in crowded areas (safety), in Epcot in general and when you are trying to get across the Epcot for an ADR (a lot more walking at Epcot than MK), at the later end of a week long trip (no stroller might be fine for days 1 - 4, but days 5 - 8?).
