I needed to post it somewhere, so I hope this is ok.
Last October, we scheduled a family trip to Disney with the grandparents, and DH didn't get to go at the last minute -- his employers were shorthanded, and he was told he'd lose his job if he went. Well, he didn't go -- and he got laid off while we were gone. He's been working temporary jobs ever since, off and on -- more on than off, thank goodness, but still pretty nervewracking, with unemployment periods ranging from a few days up to 6 weeks at a stretch.
He had a new permanent job lined up to start July 1. We scheduled our new trip to Disney, so excited about taking him with us this time, for his very first vacation week from that new job. Well, we just got a call telling us that they yanked the funding for the job -- so now he's lost THAT one too, before even ever starting.
He's trying to look on the bright side -- he knew I wasn't thrilled about going in the August crowds/heat and points out that the good news is now we can go in late September like I had wanted to, since his current temp job runs out in June and we have nothing at all lined up after that. I'm having a really hard time thinking about Disney at all now, though
I had been so excited about it, and about getting to take him with us this time around, and now just thinking about it is bringing back all of the trauma of him losing his job while we were gone last time. Here we go again. This is a roller coaster I could really do without
