ITA! I'd bet my next paycheck that 92% + of the people who show up 2 hours early are all there for the same reason...

WDW is a very magical place, but it doesn't get like that on its own. A lot of the times, you've got to give it a little extra push.

I hope you can get a few more posts under your belt [not you scraps... senor grumpy pants] before you come in and hijack a perfectly civil, well written, and entertaining TR.

So you're saying you don't think the family there ahead of us in the 20 degree weather just woke up early and decided those little kiddos needed some fresh air? Maybe they were from Canada and missing the cold???? I bow to their greatness in getting there before us! Did I mention it was really cold?????

NP... I'm guessing they were from Greenland... the 20* temperature probably felt like Bermuda! That's why they were there so early... jetlag had their internal clocks all messed up!

I have the Canon T2i and love it.

I see lots of posts here on the DIS asking whether to take the DSLR along or just go with the point & shoot. My answer is always the same.... If now now, WHEN? Disney is such an amazing VISUAL place, it would drive me nuts to be there without the best camera I own.

Yes, it's a hassle to carry a larger camera, but it's really worth it.

Hmmmm....my last post seems to have "magically" disappeared. Perhaps contary opinions aren't as welcome here as you profess. I used no bad language, only pointed out an alternative opinion, yet I've been censored. I love my DSLR and yes it's pain to carry, but what I come home with makes it all worth it.

Congrats on the upgrade!! I do have a question for you about the camera. The one thing I have found in going from my xs to the t1i is that I get a "busy" message way more than I used to-are you running into that as well or have I just won the special lottery?

I do sometimes, and that is my only disappointment. But I know that about it and sort of always keep it in the back of my mind.

I think the problem is the higher MP with the newer models takes up more of the "buffer". I would think if you dialed down to a smaller file size that would help. But I shoot in RAW and those are the largest files.

I'm sure that is the ONE reason that will get me to upgrade again down the road.

You sound like a nice person but I find your actions in this regard misguided. I know I'll get slammed for saying this but my feeling is that you've had your turn being Family of the Day and opening a park. You should give others who have yet to have that wonderful opportunity a chance. For you to scheme and plot so much to be "chosen" again seems to go against the randomness, once-in-a-lifetime spirit and magic that Disney tries so hard to extend to the millions of other guests who have yet to partake in such a great event. JMHO. Let the flaming begin......

bad form... there is nothing wrong with a parent trying to give her daughter wonderful childhood memories to cherish. I say good on her for being such a wonderful mother that she goes through all that trouble for her daughter. Sure it is supposed to be random, but most people who come to Disney just show up with out any planning, which to be set their child up for a potential bad trip not knowing how crazy this place can be, especially if they come during a HIGH season. So for this mom to take the tiem out of her life to plan an amazing trip for her daughter HOORAY for her! She is trying to tell a wonderful story here and I don't think it was appropriate for you to comment like that here, you should have atleast Pm her and not defaced her infront of everyone.

I thought this was a forum where people could speak honestly, so long as they kept to a certain level of decorum, however apparently if you don't see it like everyone else your opinion is not welcome here. It is a forum for opinions, but not is this case. She wrote this story to entertain others, not to get input on wether or not you considered her actions appropriate by others. Now to all, lets let this issue pass and let this women get back to her purpose, telling her and her daughter's story. We do not need to be bogging down her thread with petty issues. That is the last I am saying and I hope everyone else does the same.

Yes. That is correct. The higher MP cameras take longer to write to the card because the file size is so big.

There are memory cards that are supposed to be embedded with a faster chip to handle the larger file sizes. But they are kind of expensive!

I have that trouble sometimes when I'm shooting sports... I have to keep the max file size because my camera will take up to 7 frames per second. When you run images that quickly, you actually lose some of the max file size. Shooting as big as I can go saves the images from losing too much quality. BUT, if I run a long string of images, it bogs down my card...

Claire really wants to see Rapunzel, but I know we will have no chance. We won't get to Mk late becuase that is the day we disembark from the cruise. And no way am I spending a couple of hours in line. I love her, but I think we would al lgo mad doing that.
