Just yesterday someone did this at the local grocery store. The man just drove along and stopped, right in the middle of the right turn lane out of the parking lot. Didn't bother to pull over to the curb. He was only about 30 ft from the roads exit. Yeah, gee, thanks mister.
People around here park in the fire lane all the time. Especially at Stop & Shop. I can understand if you stop for a minute to allow an elderly person get out/in without having to dodge cars in the parking lot. Most of the time, the driver lets the passenger out, and then just sits there reading the paper or whatnot. I've gone shopping and saw a car stop in the fire lane, and when I came out 40 minutes later, they are still there. That is just plain lazy and rude.
At my old job we had someone double park perpendicular to the cars in the front parking spaces. The car was blocking in 4 parked cars. Of course when one of those cars wanted to leave we had to page the offender to come and move their car. And of course no one came. I felt bad for the lady trying to leave. For the record, the parking lot was very small and there were open spaces just a few feet away from their car.
