Don't PANIC With ADRs!

I know there is a lot of anxiety  for people making ADRs for January and February because of the uncertainty of the participating restaurants, but my suggestion is just stay calm and make ADRs where you really want to eat. I think it's a good time to remember three essential facts about ADRs and the DDP:
  1. Some ADRs are very difficult to get, and they're all hard to get if you wait too long.
  2. With rare exceptions, you cancel an ADR with no penalty
  3. You can add DDP right at the last minute if you choose, so there is absolutely no need to make a DDP purchase decision now.
So make your ADRs now, and take your sweet time making the DDP decision. Chances are, the final lineup for the DDP will look a lot different than it looks today.

If you don't like what you see when you need to make a DDP decision, don't buy it. You'll still have your ADRs, and you can evaluate each of them and keep the ones you want.

Don't panic...all is not lost...yet.

Happpy planning!

Chiming in to agree with JimMIA. I recall last year that all were not on board whenteh original documents went to print. It is only August, a lot can and will happen between now and January.

I made mine today for my Feb. 4-9 trip. I didn't want to be shut out if they don't add the Epcot ones back in. I did feel a little odd about making them so far in advance, but I feel better knowing I have what I want.

Maybe we need to start a Dining Plan Meditation and Yoga group. "Breathe in, breathe out, you will eat well no matter what." ;)

I dunno... :confused3

From some of what I've seen, it would be a smallish crowd.

Seriously folks, it is not YET time to freak out over where you may or may not be eating 6-8 months from now.

VERY GOOD POINT.

Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's and CRT are probably the toughests ADR's to get. All are listed as participating. Chefs de France hasn't been a hard reservation to get. The Dining Plan can be cancelled and is probably a good buy even if NONE of the missing restaurants show up. Book the hard reservations and worry about "filling in later".

I think the biggest issue may be guests who are considering CSR. I can't picture Disney not having a participating restaurant in a resort but the solution might be a small CS restaurant geared to dining guests. Pepper Market might not like being a destination for guests who order the rib-eye steak and run up $30 tabs while the restaurant doesn't even get $10.
