So far, I have all of our meals figured out. I have booked a few character meals and some other fun meals.

What else are don't misses for a two year old and what is the best strategy to do them? I know we won't get to do it "all" but I want my little goose to have the time of her life!

:)

the favorite thing my 3 year old did was playing in the fountain at Epcot. Right by the bridge between future world and World Showcase. We sat there and he "fought" the water for an hour!! and absolutely had a ball. Sometimes it isn't the "scheduled" times, but the unscheduled times that turn out to be the favorites!!

Enjoy the time with your little one!! they grow so quickly (ds is now 12!!)

Shelly

p.s. he loved the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom

The parades! My two year old still talks about them! I don't know about strategy, but just let her take the lead. My Anderson wouldn't ride anything in Fantasyland but loved Pirates...go figure...:confused3

Playhouse Disney Live on Stage at HS is an absolute must! It is really well done and even held the attention of our 16 month old.

Be sure to check the schedule for show times as soon as you arrive at the park (I wish we picked up the HS schedule the day before we went there). Try to sit at least half way back (whether in the middle or to the left or right doesn't seem to matter). You are on the floor and the stage is elevated so it is hard for little ones to see if they are too close to the front.

Enjoy!

I totally agree. Any of the "fountains"! They were by FAR DD's favorite thing. I have probably a hundred pics of her in them, and she got to interact with other kiddos too.

That, and she really liked Living with the Land.

When DHS has its EMH night hours you MUST take her to the Playhouse Disney dance party they have where the kids get to dance with Mickey and all of his friends. It starts at 7 pm. It was the highlight of our son's night - so much so that we had a Playhouse Disney Dance Party for his second birthday a couple of weeks ago. He was 19 months when we went.

If your DD will stay up at night long enough for it, at age 2, my DD was absolutely enthralled with Spectromagic. Watching her completely engrossed in it with a giant smile on her face and jumping up and down waving at the characters was one of the moments on her 1st trip that about brought tears to my eyes. The MK afternoon parade was a big hit too. Biergarten was a huge hit with her at age 3. She absolutely loved the German band and getting out on the dance floor, and she ate really well there too. Her favorite rides at age 2 were Small World, Peter Pan, and the boat in Mexico in Epcot. My biggest tip for taking one that little is to try to get them to know the characters before they go. If she hasn't seen Cinderella, that is a great movie for ones that age because it isn't scary. Some of the movies are too scary for little ones, so we taught her the characters through little books. DD knew almost all the characters before she got there and she was absolutely thrilled to see they were real! I think that is what really made our 1st trip special.

Our son's favorites were the following:
Lion King Show (we saw this several times)
Nemo Show (loved that)
Safari Ride (animal kingdom)
He really liked all the characters and you can see a whole bunch in animal kingdom with short lines
Magic Kingdom, he liked the parade like someone pointed out and the celebration parade, dumbo, its a small world, country bears (loved that)
We did the Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace character meals
Epoct he liked the nemo ride and innovations (there is a lot of play with there and if you have the disney visa, you can go to the special character greeting)
Disney Hollywood-play house disney show and he got to see leo and june the characters We did not do much else here.

All in all, he enjoyed a lot and we saw a lot!

My twin 2.4 year olds favorite things were:

Chef Mickey's dinner and breakfast
Meeting Mickey & Minnie in the character tent in Toontown
Meeting Mickey & friends in Character Spot in Epcot
The Lion King show in AK
DUMBO ride
Dinosaur ride (like Dumbo)
Flying Magic carpet ride
Small World
The World of Disney store in DTD

Flying Magic carpet ride

I can't believe I forgot that one in my above post! DD was obsessed with it. I'm not sure how many times we rode it. On her 1st trip she had no interest in Dumbo and refused to ride it, but I think we rode the Magic Carpets at least 5 times.

Indulging her as she does what she wants to do...which may involve the fountains, as others have said, riding the bus/monorail/train/elevator (my DS) or watching ducks for hours (my DD). :D

Watching her cues for fatigue so you don't have a cranky, overtired kiddo. ;)

DD's favorite rides at 2 seemed to be It's a Small World and the Carousel.

For DS at that age (besides transportation)...TTA and the go-carts.

Mine weren't big fans of the parades or fireworks at that age.

MK's Donald's Boat was my DD's favorite thing when we took her when she was 2. It was my DD's favorite thing last year when he was 1! I'm shocked it's not listed here. I agree with everyone saying fountains and Playhouse Disney. Those are great for toddlers! Oh and Pooh's playful Spot playground (not sure of exact name) in MK. Also It's a Small World. Hope you have a great trip! :)

great ideas...going with an almost 3 yr old and a 1.5 yr old...so looking to also hear some great ideas! =)

Thought of another one that hasn't been mentioned yet- the Dream Along With Mickey show at the Castle. It plays several times during the day. It has Mickey and the Gang; the Princesses; and Peter Pan. DD was crazy about it. On all 3 trips we have had to WDW, anytime we are anywhere near the castle when it is playing she makes us stop whatever we are doing and go over there until the end of the show.

My 2 yr old just loved It's a Small World, the look on her little face the first time we rode it will be one of my favorite memories of all time. It was so amazing to her that our 15th time on it she had the same expressions as the first time.:)

Honestly, your never going to know until you get there what exactly is gonna push your 2 year old's buttons, but my biggest piece of advice - the absolutely DO NOT MISS - HER FACE, HER EYES... don't worry about attractions, rides, shows, parades, watch the smallest thing she takes such delight in, it's amazing- I guarantee you will watch her face and her eyes more than you see the actual park!

BTW, when we took my GS at 2years old, he was crazy about the hotel hallway and the elevator, laughed and giggled all the way out of the room and thru the hotel- I swear if we never left the hotel he would have been just as happy, don't get me wrong, he LOVED Buzz lightyear & it's a small world rides, and all the parades, but just wanted you to realize that little ones take pleasure in little things- Keep the pace slow, WATCH HER FACE- guarantee you cry more than once and it's over something you would have never noticed had you not been watching her....

Have a GREAT TIME!!

DS LOVED riding on Dumbo and eating at O'hana. We have a picture of him with Mickey and he has the biggest smile on his face. :)

When our older DS was 3, his favorite thing was the playground at the resort. He was afraid of the characters and the rides, so he didn't get much out of the parks.

No wait, I forgot about the jumping fountain at EPCOT. It's outside of Imgaination!. That was his favorite thing both times he's gone.

Best advice ever!
