Don't screw up like i did, family vacations for us are our only group family photos so I purchase all of the photos as we go. As we went in we were given a disney photo pass following our first group pic in front of the castle. After purchcasing many photos the first 2 days I realized that I would have been much smarter to have waited and purchased the CD at the end of my trip for $99.......what a dummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How are your experiences with photo pass???? :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:    :sad2:

Well at least you are not as dumb as I was. I misplaced our photopass card for quite awhile. Kept meaning to really look for it, but didn't make the time. Finally found it about a week or two ago and went to the photopass site. Aaaaccck! They only keep them for 30 days so our pics are out of the system now. Thank goodness we got a new digital camera right before the trip that DH really likes. It is the first vacation that we actually have me in the pictures!

did you call disney??/ i bet they can do some pretty amazing things and might be able to restore your photos...

We spent 8 days in Disney in January.

I wish we'd ordered our pictures at the parks (or the cd).
When we returned home, then we ordered our pictures & they are more expensive from home than in the parks.

We ordered lots of 5X7s.
When those arrived - - they looked so good that we reordered some 8X10s!

When we go in May, we're just going to buy the cd.

We knew of the CD so waited but they lost over HALF our pictures and they weren't on our CD when we got home. So it would of been worth it if we had all the pics. They lost over half of them

I didn't know you could buy a CD of them all! Maybe I'll do that when we go....

BTW~ does anyone know if they take pics at the water parks?

Chris - yes - they do take pictures in the water parks! My dd had her picture taken w/Lilo & Stitch at Typhoon Lagoon last summer. Before we left, we did go see it at the front counter. It was cute.

Can someone give me more info on this cd?? we are going in July. thxs

I am wondering too how this really works. I don't really understand. You buy the CD for $99, does that include whatever prints you want on it? Or do you pay the same for prints and the $99 just includes getting the digital copies of pics? I thought I read somewhere that you were only allowed to print the pics through Disney, and you couldn't print the digital copies of the pics yourself. So, what is the point in the CD? I think I am missing something?

Thanks.

The $99 is just for the CD, however once you buy the CD you own the rights to the pictures on it and can print them wherever you want. The CD comes with a notice explaining that you own the rights to the pics. So you can print them at Walmart (they example they give) and not have to print them through Disney. But if you print them through Disney, you pay for the prints. I got the CD and uploaded prints to Snapfish and printed them there for alot cheaper.

Can you only have photopass photos taken at the parks? Do they take them at any of the resorts, DTD, boardwalk? And can you ask the photographers to take like 5 or 10 of the same shot (my daughter moves all the time and it's hard to get a good picture)?

Does it matter how many pics are on the CD or does it hold only a certain amount? WOW what a great deal. I want to know more info, please.

I've never seen PhotoPass photographers at any of the resorts or DTD & I haven't been to the Boardwalk.

The photographers usually just take one of a particular shot.
I have had some take a pic. of my kids & then I would get in & ask them to take another.

But asking them to take 5 or 10 of the same shot...I don't really think so.
Often times, these is a line of people waiting behind you (esp. at the character greetings) - - and that would really hold up the line (might cause some hostility with those waiting also.) Someone else might come on here & say they do that all the time though. I've just never seen it done.

I was told just two days ago that they hold the files for 90 days!!!

I was able to make an order after the 30 days, you might still have a chance!

Here's a tip...
As soon as you get your photopass card, take a close up picture of the back. That way you have your photopass # in case you should lose your card. :goodvibes
It really gave me peace of mind. I figured if I lost my card, it wasn't such a big deal.

GREAT idea!! I'm totally doing this when we go back later this year! We went in January with another couple and their daughter. We shared the Photo Pass. We had just over 200 pictures on it. We split the cost of the CD and made a copy of it so we each had all the pictures!

We were told the CD's hold about 400 pictures! Definately worth the money!

Most of the photographers took at least 2 or 3 shots, whether it was a character greeting or a pose like in front of the castle. I think if your child is being particuarly cute, they might take more. At the Character Connection in Epcot, my son went wild with Minnie, just totally hugging her and loving her up and the photographer laughed and snapped about 7 or 8 shots.

we got 69 total pics on our cd and up to 6 candid shots with each character, the photographers are definitely taking more photos.....i don't know what the size limit is on the cd but i assume all 69 would fit on one

We got several photopass photos from our trip in Dec/Jan -- I never saw an option online for getting them all on a CD. All of our photos weren't even up online before we left Orlando (I think they may have been in the system onsite though). And online we could make changes (cropping, adding WDW logos, etc.) before ordering -- wouldn't have wanted to take the time to figure that all out while at the parks.
We got some great family photos using photopass -- would be fun to have them all on a CD. We're going again next month, so maybe we'll learn more and have lots more taken, if we can get them all on a CD and not have to choose (although one or two per park is probably enough along with our own pictures, and some of them weren't too good anyway -- but most were good). The best ones we had were at Animal Kingdom -- great photographer on the bridge there.

We will have a large group (13) travelling together and I know that we won't stay together all the time, thus needing at least 2 if not more photopasses. Can they all be put on one CD or is each photopass on a CD? I know in the past we have gotten one photopass to start and then either couldn't get it out fast enough or the person holding it wasn't with us when we met a character, so we were given another. Will they combine the passes onto one disk?
That would save us a fortune!
