Checked my DVC account online this morning to see if my VWL 1 night waitlist had come through. My point value seemed strange, and when I clicked into my vacations I saw my waitlist had come through
, but that my SSR reservation for that night and 2 nights prior had been completely cancelled (I had added the 3rd night to my existing SSR ressie as a backup).
When I waitlisted, I specifically told the MS rep that I only wanted the last (overlapping) night of my SSR reservation cancelled if my waitlist came through (I actually didn't think they'd automatically do that, thought I was going to have to call back to cancel).
The rep I spoke with this morning confirmed this was clearly noted in the instructions in their system, but also confirmed that, by mistake, the entire 3 nights were cancelled. Luckily it was at SSR and he was able to rebook the original 2 nights.
Auto booking is one thing, but auto cancelling is too risky...
I guess the lesson I learned is that if I waitlist again, I'll tell them I don't want the duplicate reservation cancelled. Once I can confirm my waitlist has come through, I'll call again to have them cancel while I can participate on the phone.
