Don't laugh-- Red Sox tickets needed-- legit sites?

My brother managed to get 2 green monster tickets for August 27 and he offered one to me since we will be visiting him then. However, my son wants to go and my wife would go only to make sure he had an adult sitting with him. We don't need to sit together, but I also cannot pay $100's per ticket. When I google, lots of sites come up with tickets which of course are double the normal cost. I wouldn't mind paying a little more since we would never have this opportunity again. However, I don't want to get taken by a non-legit site. We would only be looking for bleacher type seats preferably near the green monster. No way my wife could stand for 3 hours.....

So has anyone used any of these ticket brokers before? Are some better than others? They all seem to have the same seats available although there is a price difference.

Do seats ever open up for sold out dates? Better yet is there a forum where people sell seats for games they can't attend?

TIA

I can't offer you any ticket help - but I'll bounce this back to page one for you. :Pinkbounc

We used stubhub.com for a game in June. We paid about $15 over face value and got pretty decent seats. We had no problem with this site.

Hope this helps!

Did you try ticketmaster.com?

LynCC, I did try ticketmaster, nothing was listed.

Thanks Pam for bumping me back to page 1.

Thanks KellyAnn, stubhub was one of the sites I found so I will look into it again.

Anyone else?

I am going to be ordering Yankee's tickets from a site called Ticketsnow.com

There are so many web sites that I wasn't sure who to use but I heard the owner of Ticketsnow on my local radio show this morning and I really liked their guarantee policy. Their web site is really well done.

I looked at your game on the site and there are several seat choices that are under $100. so maybe you can find something that will work.

The tickets I am going to get are 25.00 over face value but they are great seats and it's a once in a lifetime trip for my dads 70th. birthday so I am willing to pay the cost.

I will be ordering on Monday I would be happy to let you know how it goes.

See, who says Yankees & Red Sox fans can't get along! :flower:

I was order from stubhub, and usually get the tickets within 1-2 days via fedex.

very reliable service, never had a problem. I've probably bought about 5-6 sets of red sox tickets from them.

Although beware: they tend to tack on the service fees.

I just used stubhub today to buy White Sox tickets. The prices were very reasonable compared to ticket broker seats. I paid just a few dollars over face value. They then charge you a fee that is 10 % of your total, and I was charged $14.95 for fedex, so my hundred dollars for 4 tickets added up to $124.95. It's my 5 year old son's first game and I have to turn him into a White Sox fan from being a Cub fan, so its well worth the money. Good luck.

Jcricket fan, I will look at that web site as well, let me know how it goes with you.

Denmig-- I am actually a cubs fan, it's good to turn your son now before he endures years of heartbreak ;)

Another rec for stubhub. Its mostly season ticket holders who can't use a certain game, and are trying to recoup the money. The service fees are stubhubs cost of doing business.

Keep checking the official site, www.redsox.com, for tickets. Often seats pop up in the system as blocks become available. They are often grandstand seats, around $45 each.

Thanks Marjie, I think I will keep checking with the official site for a few days. In order to get 2 bleacher seats it will cost me around $130 so I have a price comparison.
