Hi,
FIRST CRUISE.... April 27th...4 night on the WONDER...

Can any expert give me any hints....
ANYTHING????
Shows, dinners, etc.... I'm Totally lost!!
We just booked the cruise...so I don'y have a brochure, video tape...NOTHING!!!
It will be just my wife and myself...NO KIDS!! We are going on our second honeymoon.(20 year Anniv.)
So, Maybe a secret spot at the beach.... a special place to eat?

PS.... DON'T Laugh!!!!
Is room service really FREE???? ( Besides the tip?)

THANKS in advance!!!!:p

dtheboys.....thanks for asking this!

We are going on our first cruise in a little over a month (we'll have kids with us though!)

I was wondering about the room service too!

Okay, You two also need to go to Amazon.com and order The PassPorter's Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and have it express shipped.

Btwn Barb and Tony's site, Dave's site, and the book, you should have pretty much everything under control. I was this way about 6 weeks ago, now I feel more prepared.

Yes, room service is free (except sodas and alcholic beverages) except for the tip. You need to eat at Palo--reservations are taken when you get on the ship--check the navigators for time/place. It is an additional $5 per person and well worth it. Definitely check out the web sites listed below--they are so helpful!! I also enjoyed the Magical Guide, which I think you can find at wdwig.com. The spa has a number of couple treatments--massages, etc. that are good. I loved the rainforest room, my husband didn't try it though. Good luck planning--you will have a wonderful time.

All food is free - even from room service. You should tip the CM who delivers room service. You will have a small cooler in your cabin so you can bring your own drinks with you. Also, there is a 24 hour beverage station on deck 9 by the Mickey pool that serves coffee, tea, ice, water, milk, lemonade and iced tea.
Have a great trip.

Wow...you've got a lot of reading to do in such a short time...but don't sweat, you've come to the right place.

All the previous posters have given great advice!

One of my favorite secret spots in secret deck 7. We've always gotten an inside room (cheap seats!) and used SD7 for verandah time. Just walk as far aft as you can on deck 7, you'll see a big wooden door, and outside are about 20 chairs or so. I've only been out there once when someone else was out there. We'd order room service and head out there. But be aware.....people can see you from Beach Blanket Buffet, so keep it PG!

On our first cruise, I was so afraid to order anything because I thought it would be extra. Even at our first dinner, I ordered water because I thought cokes were extra!!!! So I am definately not laughing. Next time I plan on pigging out!!!

In the restaurants you can order as much food as you want. On one cruise I had 2 entrees because I could not decide between the filet mignon and the sea bass. I have been known on occassion to order double desserts too, or even 3 or 4 if sharing with a friend. My one friend was brought a dinner plate full of ice cream one night because he said he only wanted ice cream for dessert - he said it had about 9 scoops of ice cream. On one cruise, DD only wanted pizza and strawberries for dinner every night and that is what she got.
The servers are very accomidating with specail requests. Don't forget to look at the kids menu if you do not see anything on the regular menu. You will have to ask for one if you don't have kids in your party. The Mickey ravioli is very good. I told my server one night I didn't like anything on the menu and the Head Waiter came over to talk to me to see if there was anything he could do for me since I said I didn't like the menu. I just picked a couple of things from the kids menu and they put together a very good chicken alfredo for me. They have Mickey ice cream bars in the restaurants - just ask for one.
Don't be shy - just ask.

Okay, another dumb question...secret deck 7 on the aft side.
Which is that...front or back????

We are in room 7000. I know it is toward one end of the ship, but I can't remember which!

Dang, we're the first room at the front of the ship.
Ah...I get it! Forward = Front

I thought we'd have our own little private recluse right next to our room.

kellyb.....LMBO!!!
I actually thought of that one too! Now I will never forget!

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

hey- it works for me!! it's the only way I can keep it straight!

Starboard is right

Port is left - they each have 4 letters

I know I'm getting way off subject from the original thread topic and I can't stand when people do that (for example I asked about infants and safety drills and people started talking about shrimp) ANYWAYS....since we're talking about port and starboard or the left and right side, when the ships are docked at the terminal which side of the ship is on the "building" side and which faces the water?

Thanks jilljill!!

(sorry "boys" for getting off subject but it's still good information, right?!)

THANKS....to all that helped me out....I love this site!!
I'm a DVC member, but have never been on a cruise...so Thanks!!;)

kellyb2000..........

When the ships are docked at the DCL terminal in Port Canaveral, the starboard (right) side is next to the building. If you're on the port (left) side your view will be of the water, and the Carnival terminal and ship.
