We are planning our trip to the Beach Club at this time. We are looking into flights and may be staying in concierge. The only thing is, we will be staying 5 nights at the Beach Club and the first night we wont be checking in until around midnight/1am, so it would make no sense to pay for a concierge room for the first night because it will be closed by then. Is it possible that I can pay the first night in a regular room and then the last 4 concierge?

If you are asking if you can pay regular room rate and stay on the concierge floor the first night, the answer is no. You could still eat breakfast in lounge, which would be considered part of the first night. You could book a separate reservation for a regular room and move to conceirge the next day. Or, you could stay offsite and check into BC in the morning. Considering BC's room rates, I would do that. There are lots of hotels near the airport or even the Hyatt at the airport.

Do you think we should just book a standard room and then take our chances with an upgrade or upsell rate at check-in???

Why not make 2 reservations.... 1 for the first night in a regular room and the other 4 nights concierge?

I would defintely stay off site or at even a value resort the first night since you will only be spending mere hours in it. Then I'd book your 4 nights at BC concierge. Don't waste all that money if you won't be able to take advantage of it!

If it were me, I'd stay the first night at the airport Hyatt. It's right at the airport, so you'd just get your bags & take the elevator up. I imagine at midnight, you'll be tired & will appreaciate just going up to your room. Then, you could have your limo pick you up fairly early to take you to the BC. You'd still have your day at the parks.

We will probably be arriving in Orlando at 1am also, and we are staying at the CR Tower Club. We're just going to find a cheap hotel near the airport, and then check in the next day.

But yes, you can get a cheaper room at the BC for one night. Just to warn you though, even if you have paid your deposit for the concierge room, they will ask for another one for the standard room.

I thinking one night in a moderate/value closest to the BC. Which would that be?
CSR is pretty close to the BC, but the idea posted by Kimberle is a GREAT one~! I've heard some nice things about the Airport Hyatt...and the convenience can't be beat. I would figure you to be nearly exhausted at that time, with flying, etc. It would be so easy to take the elevator to your room, sleep...and then awake refreshed to check-in to the BC Concierge. Whatever you decide, have a fab time! :cloud9:

We stayed at the Airport Hyatt last trip, thanks to a bump from Northwest off of our flight home. Great hotel. Very clean, accomodating, excellent service. The room was on Northwest so I can't tell you the price.

We stayed at the airport Hyatt for one night before our GF stay, several years ago. My son still raves about the hotel. He liked it better than GF, but that's another story. It was great to just go upstairs. But the part that really surprised me was that it was QUIET. I was really expecting it to be really noisy since it was at the airport, but it must have been soundproofed really well.

I looked at prices a few weeks ago and they were like $199/night at the hyatt.

I would look at a mod/value, or even off site.

We got "stuck" at the airport Hyatt thanks to a summer Nor'Easter a few years ago. We had no reservation, and got the room for $99 AAA. So ask for a AAA rate, maybe Entertainment book as well? For us, we had to stay there on the way home, we arrived at the airport to go home, and found out all flights cancelled for the entire northeast........ sunny day in Orlando, chaos at home. New flgiht home was 6am the next day, so we did the Hyatt. Very nice, our room balcony looked out into the airport lobby........

Just offering a different opinion... I would stay at BC conc. level even if coming in so late so I could get up in a. m. and eat in the lounge and start my vacation right away. Personally I wouldn't want to have to switch hotels in the morning, that kills valuable disney time. I do understand the concept of staying one night cheaper, just saying I wouldn't do it myself. :D

Ya, we think we are just going to book a standard room and see if we can get an upgrade or upsell rate at check-in. I really don't feel like changing hotels either.

I have never stayed on concierge, while i understand some of the advantages, i wonder how it effects room locations/views, what the cost difference is, if its worth the extra $$$?
