Don't Hug Me...

And bless you for taking in that boy. You'll be rewarded five times over, although I'm sure that's not why you did it. Has he had nice Christmases before?

Yes. but has always had "issues" with his Step Father. Dyfus/ Children's Services have been called in prior to this. But, I think now that he is 18 they said Don't come back after yet another fight.. He works 3 jobs and keeps asking if we want money and we keep telling him No, save it to get a place of your own. I mean, I hardly see him. I think he has eatten 2 or 3 dinners with us since he got here. He is truely a great kid.

Well, if you are going to be wearing all of that, you may as well add a couple of Santa hats and string up some lights in the bedroom! That should help with the Christmas spirit!

Then the lights would keep me awake.. :rotfl:

(and perhaps a home pregnancy test?)

BITE your tongue... Honestly, you know, I did think about that.. But, DH & I haven't been able to have children and we tried for 10 years. My DS is from my ex hub. But this Hub, adopted him for his own a year after we married :lovestruc So I highly doubt it would be that. Plus.. I was at the DR for my yearly 2 weeks ago and I wasn't then..

Well...then just add a sleeping mask...what's one more thing??:thumbsup2 You already have socks, VapoRub, 1 earplug, nose strip and Santa hats.

What a sight that would be!! :scared1: Waking up and seeing all that, I think DH would wake up and think he was having a nightmare :thumbsup2

You are all doing a Great Job at helping me smile instead of crying.. Thank You so very much... Holiday Blessing to ALL of you :flower3:

I don't melt, so cry away. It's really wonderful how you're helping your son's friend--I'm sure not an easy thing to do, but a very worthwhile. You're there for your friends and you haven't killed your husband. :thumbsup2

I've been very emotional lately. Nothing I shouldn't expect or deserve, but it doesn't make it easy. Then I'll have a day like today when I'm much more positive.

Hang in there! This, too, shall pass.

Ok, WOW... Did anyone notice the advertisment down below?? It says in BIG letters.. Want to stop snoring? Easy three minutes exercises permanently cure snoring as soon as tonight.... :rotfl2:

Is a pillow involved? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

If I'm sleep deprieved I cry at the drop of a hat, do you have a spare couch?
You may just need one good night of sleep to get back to normal?:goodvibes

Well, stranger things have happened! And did they do a pg test while you were there, or a random ultrasound? Hmm? ;)

That was the first thing I thought, but since your son is older, and most people who have old teenagers don't usually have babies (not that no one does, plenty do, it's just not all that often, LOL), I figured it likely wasn't that. But who knows?

We have a family bed and hubby was gone from it for awhile many months ago (DS and I kept getting sick and hubby coudln't get sick b/c of work so he quarantined himself), and when he came back to the big bedroom, I found I coudln't deal with his snoring! And he didn't like being nudged, pushed, and kicked "all night long" (I didn't do anything more than push his arm or leg, and I only did it for awhile, but he was sleeping and thought he was being tortured for hours). He slept away from us for quite awhile, but now he's back with us on for days when he doesn't have to get up for work.

And I've started using soft/squishy earplugs, and it's been lovely! I should have done it ages ago.

FWIW, although I get incredible sleep and the earth is quiet, I DO hear people noises. Don't really hear my phone, so the alarm might not be heard, but talking definitely. So I imagine that an emergency noise would be heard, if it's louder than the phone. :)

I use the soft, squishy ones, too. I got them in the pharmacy dept at Walmart. I can still hear the TV with them in. My son uses them at the movies and can hear the movie with no problem.

YOu're an angel for taking that boy in!

As for the snoring, yes, I agree with the earplugs. I don't have a problem waking up to an alarm with them, but it does take it a few more seconds to sink in to my consciousness. BUT, I can hear the snoring with the earplugs.

If I can muffle his snoring without holding a pillow over his face, I'll try it ;) I almost used a clothes pin for his nose the other night

They will find another way to snore...believe me! My DH spent $60 on a mouthpiece that was supposed to align his jaw and stop his snoring. It worked for a few nights...then he figured out how to snore through his nose. I have wanted to suffocate him many times during the night. :rolleyes1

Well... that did NOT work!! :sad2: At least my feet were warm and minty fresh..

DH did put the strip on but at 2am, snores away!!! :scared: So I was up again..

Tonight I will use the ear plugs too.. At this point, if I don't hear the alarm, oh well, He'll be late for work :snooty:

I may just burst into tears and drown us both :sad1:

Needeless to say I have been under some stress lately and for 2 days now, I'm crying at the drop of a hat.. Last night, I cried because I forgot to add 2 dishes to the dishwasher before I locked and started it.. :sad2:

1st. DS's friend has been living with us since Black Friday when his Mom & Step Father tossed him out..

2nd. DH has been snoring up a storm, in my ear ALL night long so I'm not getting any restful sleep for the past 2 weeks.. He FINALLY agreed to wear a nose strip in hopes that it will help me get some sleep tonight..

3rd. My good friend, confided in me that she wants a divorce before things get too out of hand. Her hubby is drinking alot, not explaining why, cheating on her *again*, verbally abusing her and she is down to her wits end..

4th. My BFF of 12 years is having a really really hard time for Christmas. Her Grandmother passed away recently and no one is in the modd for a celebration

5th. This economy REALLY stinks and I'm loosing my Christmas Spirit fast.. I decorated the tree and the house and still nothing.. :guilty:
--------------------

Things have been horrible on this end too - medical problems; financial concerns; the death of my very, very dear friend the Monday before Thanksgiving; my not being able to eat because everything hurts my stomach or causes "bathroom issues" (which also means I'm pretty much chained to the house) and on and on.. Had to do my Christmas shopping on-line; haven't received all the items yet; never got my Christmas cards mailed out; still need to finish decorating; still need to bake with my DGD - but all of a sudden, out of nowhere - the Christmas spirit really hit me today!! I honestly didn't think it would - that I would just "fake" my way through it - but whatever that "magical" thing is that happens during the holiday season has finally landed on my shoulder.. Yay!!!!!!! :santa:

Hang in there as best you can.. I have a feeling that something will happen between now and then to lift your spirits.. :) Make up your mind right now not to feel "pressured" - only do what you really want to do - and maybe that will help..

You said "no hugs" - so how about this instead...:thumbsup2
