I think my converter box just died. Can this happen? All my channels say no signal, even when I move the antenna around.:worship:

Sure it can, anything can happen with electronics.

I would first make sure all cable connectors are firmly screwed in though. That has been an issue for me in the past.

You may also need to run a channel search again.

Also make sure the TV is set to the correct input. It sometimes gets changed accidently.

Yes. My mother's box she got w/ the gov't coupon lasted about 2 years before dying. I had bought an HDTV for my bedroom a few months before that, so I gave her my converter box.

I am thinking of cutting off my Dish on my LR TV (tube type), so now I will have to buy a new box. Last time I checked, you could get one for 40-50 bucks. If they're more than taht now, I may just splurge and replace the TV instead.

Sure they can. Converter boxes are just custom-cut computers with a main processor, hard drive, video processor, and other internal guts roughly similar to what you'd find if you open up a desktop PC. Can't say based on what you've posted if that's the case here, but it surely is possible.
