I hate to ask about a non-Disney site. I know, shocking isn't it? Let me say first off, that we are going to WDW for NY, which will be our 4th trip, from Chicago, since last August. And our 26th-30th trip (lost count) But, to make it more acceptable to our 2 teen boys, we told them we would also do,(I hate to say this) Universal and IOA (gasps all around). NOw, I have found so far that their customer service by phone, and web site, are, shall we say, less than informative. (as far as CS by phone, down-right useless) (As an aside, when I called to make a reservation for the hotel there, the call taker's first question was "do you have a first name?" I answered simply. "yes." She didn't seem to know where to go from there) Anyhow, the question is, (finally) does anyone know of a web site similar in style to this that deals with Universal? Basically, I don't have a clue about the place, and the few books I've got from the library are 95% WDW. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
J.
You may now resume your regularly scheduled Disney programing.

I think you may have mis-heard the question from the Universal representative as they also ask "may I have your first name"? Universal and IOA are every bit as fun as Disney and as you can see from my signature, I love Disney too! I think Universal and IOA get a bum rap from alot of Disney fans, but not me. We always split our stay. You will find alot of information on the Universal web site. Try www.universalstudios.com. Have a great time and enjoy!

No gasp here. We love both. We prefer to stay at Disney Hotels, but Universal is always included on the trip for the whole vacation experience. Like was mentioned here already, you can get a lot of Info from the Universal Board on this site.

We also do US & IOA when we go. My kids would get mad at me if we didn't stop there too. I usually buy the "Unofficial Guide to WDW" for the year we go and they also have some good info for US & IOA in there on their rides and a touring game plan for the day.

Joe! LOL, you didn't know we had an USF site right here on the DIS?

Thanks for the links, guys :)

Hi Kath, and eveyone. Thanks for all the info. Nope I didn't know. Guess I've just been focused someone else. Benebire, believe me, I didn't mis-hear. That's what she said. I was wishing I had a real witty comeback to that question, like "No, do I need one for reservations?" Something, anything. Good game to see who comes up with the best response to the question. She really seemed like she couldn't be bothered. And, of course, this was like the 3rd call I had to make. Chatting with the first person on their line, while she looked up a number for me to call, I asked how the weather was there in Orlando. She said she couldn't say, as she was in Canada. New Brunswick I think. Guess she couldn't give me a first hand report on the parks.

To be fair, I think the hotels are run by Loews, not Universal. But I have had similar experiences to yours with awful CS all over the place. I have an unusual last name, and many CSRs on the phone just cannot get it right, no matter how clearly I spell it.

I had to think about this for awhile. I wasn't sure if I was talking to Lowes or not. But, the person in Canada was at the toll free #9(another correction, it was actually at the 407 #!!) for Universal. One of the reasons I called was to get some info sent out, ala Disney, though I supposed a free video was too much to hope for. The person (1st one, in Canada) said she'd take my name, but honestly she doubted that they'd send anything. Boy, not quite guest services at Disney. The whole experience almost had me tell them to forget the whole thing. In stronger words than that.
