I wanted Pop Century for Jan 13-21. Couldn't get the complete time on AP (or even any days in a row, begining or end, but could get and use the general code for last 3 nights. Booked All Star Music for first 5 nights..again, no AP rate available, just the general code (which is still wonderful).

Called today, all 8 nights at Pop Century, first three on AP rate, last 5 (so far) on general code.

Coming to see you Tyler!!

Great news, DMRick! Keep trying for AP rate for the rest of your nights. We're just back from 7 nights at AKL...which we booked at the AP rate the day before we checked in. The AP rate for the exact same nights wasn't available for WEEKS before that!

Here's some pixie dust :wizard:

I have two questions for you. Number 1, how did you get a discount rate for the 17th and 18th? We were told since it is MLK weekend, no discounts were available for those two dates. Second, how did you get them to split the rates for your stay? We asked if we couldn't pay the regular rate for the 17th and 18th, and then use either the general code or the AP discount for the last 5 nights, and they said they couldn't do that. Our reservation is at POR, so that may be part of the reason, but I'm just frustrated, because I keep seeing posts on different boards from people who have gotten the discounts, and we just can't seem to get them! Help!

I could be wrong here, but:
I think that if you make a reservation that goes into a holiday or peak period, as long as the reservation starts before that period begins, disney will give you the lower price throughout, even though your reserevation goes into the holiday or peak season. I hope this makes sense as I haven't worded this very well. If this policy has changed at disney, maybe someone else could clarify.

Well, I guess it all depends on which CM you happen to connect with when you call. We called 5 times in the past 4 days. The first CM didn't even check, just said there were no rooms available at the discount rate. The second CM took an hour to check, only to tell us he couldn't get us the discount. The third CM said the discount was available for 5 of the 7 nights we are there, but there was no way for us to get the discount for just part of our ressie. The fourth CM was like the first; no discount, no way! Finally tonight, the fifth CM was able to give us our AAA discount for Jan. 17th and 18th, and the CTH code discount for the rest of the time. I guess persistance really does pay off when you're dealing with Disney! I'm just glad we are able to save some money!

We've done this at POR too. We have two ressies...so until I get the rest, we'll have to get our ID's redone on the "new" days. She said we dont' have to recheck in, or move our room..just get our ID's updated.

I had 13-17 at Music and 18-21 at POP..all at the $55 rate. When I called to see if there were openings at POP for the other nights, they said yes, and switched me over. Then I asked if any of those nights were ap rates, and the 16-21 were, so that's one ressie and the other nites are thesecond ressie.

Remember to try again to find a better rate 5 days to a week before your check-in date. You lose your room-only deposit if you don't cancel by 5 days prior, so that's the range where people have to drop their ressies or lose the one-night's deposit.
