Don't get it....

People with full carts in the self-checkout lines are a minor pet peeve of mine. I just don't understand why you would do this.

Same with people who just go too slowly.

Especially when you put both together along with 2 of the 6 checkout stations "closed". :headache:

So long as it's not labeled as an "express--xx number of items" I will always choose the self-checkout, no matter how many items I have. I just seem to get through faster, plus I can be sure things are scanning correctly. If I'm just unloading onto a cashier's conveyor belt I'm not able to watch how things are ringing up.

Not that I have to deal with it much....when a local supermarket put in hand-held scanners, DH took over grocery shopping entirely!!

My local supermarket has regular self checkout lanes and express checkout lanes. The regular checkout lanes usually have a line so I usually use self checkout even when I have a full cart.

I grocery shop every two weeks and get about $160.00 worth of groceries and always go through the self checkout. I scan and my husband bags. I only ever take about five minutes from beginning to end including putting in coupons. I don't know about anyone else but 5 minutes is much faster than any cashier could check me out. Also checking out my own groceries ensures that everything is ringing up right and nothing is getting double scanned which I have had happen to me many times using a regular checkout.

Our Costco doesn't have self check outs. I wish they did. I usually go to BJs and I always use the self check out. They are not express. I go there whether I run in for one item or I have an overflowing cart of items. I like ringing up my own order. The less people touching my stuff the better for me.

My pet peeve is when people behind me at BJs start scanning their items and sending them down the belt before I'm done putting my items in the cart. We don't have end dividers, so their stuff gets mixed in with mine. I told a lady one time that she needed to stop until my stuff was in my cart.

I wish the supermarket I go to would put in self checkouts. I always bag my own groceries at the supermarket. The place I go to always has "guest baggers" looking for tips on the weekend. I hate when they do that.

Oh I know!!! That bugs me to no end.

Yesterday there was a woman ahead of me with a toddler. Her order was totaled and she allowed her child to slide her cc through the machine-5 times before she finally did it her self. The whole time she's giggling like this kid is doing the cutest thing. In the meantime the line is growing and gowing. She's lucky no one was ugly to her because I could hear the comments and they were nothing pretty.
