If you don't vote you can't B***H About it later!

My husband is coming home for lunch and we are heading over then. I'm thinking mid-day wont be as huge of a line as after work will be.
I'm worried about our country. I'll be glued to the TV tonight!

Such a tough decision to make! I'll vote, but I have to admit that I'm still not sure who I'll vote for.

The polling station for our riding is right across the street from us; did I ever get pressured to put signs up. We usually don't put signs up because I feel voters should make up their own minds unencumbered by signs at this point. It was kind of funny though seeing vans pulling up and the volunteers from the 3 parties going through the neighbourhood yesterday evening trying to increase the number of signs, etc at the last minute.

I wouldn't put any of my hard-earned $$$ on a bet as to which party will win tonight. It's going to be interesting, to say the least.

Will be voting right after work.

We'll be voting in a hour...Hope that everyone will be out there and as the OP said...If you don't vote, you don't get to......later.

:p

It's still tough knowing who to vote for, though!

My only option is to base my vote on the leaders, because NOT ONE of the candidates in our riding even bothered to drop any literature about themselves or their position on anything at our house!

I guess they're not interested in the votes on a quiet court - signs are much more visible on a busy street!

It will be very interesting watching the results come in tonight ...

I went this morning before work. The station in our neighbourhood seemed to be quite busy :) The guy who was checking my card said he use to live on my street and said he remembered me ... I felt so bad since I honestly couldn't remember him :p

I can't wait to see the results tonight!

After following the election closely,I was still trying to decided who to vote for this morning when I went down to the passport office to get our passports for our August Disney trip. Mine was fine...for DD though they wouldn't process hers until I get a "long form" birth certificate . Since she was born before ex-DH and I married they can't "assume" she is DH's child :earseek: so I have to get a copy of this long form birth certificate to submit for her passport. The girl at the passport office told me the average time to process this is....get this...6 months!!! I was so po'd at the state of our govenment services here in Ontario that I decided where my vote was going then and there and stopped in to vote on my way home.

I did see on the web site for birth certificates that if you fax a copy of your airline ticket with your application that they will process it within 10 days...anyonw have exprience with that???

We voted this afternoon. DD got registered (holding up the line of 2) and she voted "her heart". :) DS will likely not vote, so he won't be able to complain---well, he will but we won't listen. ;) I didn't know that the polls were open until 9:30! Wow! D'you think that "they" will predict the winner at 9:35???

I will be very, very curious to see if the Federal ballots are the same as the ballots we just used last week for electing our new Mayor (old one decided that NOW was the right time to go into federal politics). That process was great - computer read form, watched it counting ballots it ate. Mine was number 666 :)

It became very clear how results can come in so quickly. Really all they'd need to do is press a button, get the printout and then get it to the people in charge.

Now having said... here's my rant (not technology related):
2 of the people I know who moan and complain the most about how our government is letting us down didn't vote for mayor last week. Couldn't be bothered. I'm pretty sure neither of them will be voting today.

So while those that don't vote don't have a right to complain, why does it always seem that they're the ones who complain the loudest?

I was a Polling centre supervisor on Monday....what a looooonnnnngg day. The results are manually counted and then when each poll is finished, I phoned in the results to an operator that entered them into a computer....NO tech stuff used  for counting ballots, unless you count a calculator and phone. I was kind of surprised how manual it all was. I think my 6 polling stations were all completed and phoned in by 10:10pm
