Don't Buy Resale to Give Disney more Inventory to sell later at a higher price and you lose!

Do not buy Disney resale at a good price for you are only giving Disney more inventory to sell later at a higher price. The seller gets rid of the property, the broker gets their commission and Disney gains another timeshare back. Screw them!

I'll bite.

So, assuming that I am understanding the point, you are suggesting that we don't negotiate for a "good price" and should pay more for a resale contract with the hopes of keeping those points out of the hands of DVC?

I’m saying don’t buy at all and hold out. Their sakes declined and they got more aggressive with GF pricing. I use to own there when GF was built. Market too
High and adjusting.

And plenty have decided this but honestly, people have to make their own choices,

We sold SSR so that we could buy direct VGF. We knew that the buyer would have a tough time passing ROFR, but we were willing to sell for lower because we wanted the sale.

Makes sense.

I'm suggesting you skip DVC.

Disney math on ROFR is not perfect and low contracts do sneak through. Additionally Disney is only going to buy so much back. The more you "don't let Disney buy back" the more they raise direct prices and simply buy back at the new threshold.

The exception to all of this is VGC which had astronomical resale pricing with no other DVC resorts on property.

When I was buying resale my sole goal was to canvas any contract close to what I wanted with a low price. Disney will not buy back every single contract (even though it may seem like it at times).

I'm suggesting you skip DVC.

Which I didn't take away from you original post at all.

What are you talking about? DVC resale pricing was going up up up for VGF and when they launched VGF direct pricing recently it was matched to RIV pricing like they always have (some of us thought wrongly they wouldn't match but they did).

Also direct sales and pricing has been on a pretty stable climb since July 2020 when they reopened after the shutdown.

Now the reason NOT to possibly buy right now is if you think a recession is hitting, buying power will continue to decrease, and inflation is going to stay above the past 20 year average. This then causing people to skip buying DVC, thus meaning a drop in resale/direct sales, and in turn causing low prices like from back in the day.

Not sure all of that hits home to mean that DVC will drop anytime quickly though.

Also possibly don't buy because they stopped AP sales, increased prices, have Genie+, dropped Magical Express, ect thinking that this will lower the number of people looking to go to WDW after the 50th.
