We have come to Disney each year since our dds were 12 months old and the reason we keep coming back is because as there is always something going on they are always kept entertained - as we all know, happy children make happy holidays!

This time however we were a little worried as dd 3 has had lots of problems and basically cried non stop day and night for the first 3 months of her life. To say we were dreading the flight flight and being stuck in one hotel room is an understatement.

Well, long story short she has been an absolute star. The flight with BA was a dream. They provided a chair a little like a bouncy chair for her, which she loved as she was upright and could see what was going on. We had no tears at all for the entire flight.

We also had to bring special food, prescription formula for her which we declared on customs form but they just waved us on through and we didn't have to open cases etc.

Since we have been here she hasn't cried at all and has slept better than she ever does at home. The white noise of the air on is doing the trick!!!! It's now 8.40am and I'm sat here waiting for her to wake up!!!!!

She has loved the characters. The best was Vanelope from Wreck it Ralph who sat on the floor and motioned for me to put her between her legs to play with her, priceless.

So, if anyone is pregnant now and considering a trip, or has a young baby and is worried I just wanted to put your mind at rest or encourage you to do it. Our baby is 6 months, by far the most difficult of the 3 but has turned into an angel and not stopped us doing a thing as a family.

Ok, now how on earth do I keep up this level of entertainment when we get home?! A trip to Sainsburys just won't cut it anymore!!!

Great to read. :)

DD is 3 weeks old so I'm currently intimidated at the thought of taking her shopping!

But we are wondering whether to take her next October or to leave it until the following April.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. Would love to see photos. Xx

So glad you posted this! I'm due with my third child this September. I was wondering if we should wait for our next trip until baby turns 4 or 5. We just returned from WDW last week, so it's been on my mind lately. We like to go every year or two. We adore Disney, and the thought of waiting 4 years is kind of sad! But maybe we won't wait so long... ;)

Your post is very encouraging. Sounds like a truly magical trip!

Best wishes to you and yours!!! :goodvibes

Congrats on having her :-)

We took our grandson last year and he was 14 months and also going this sept it's not as difficult as some say

Totally agree - we were due to take DD at 15 mths but were got impatient and went when she was 9 mths and it was no problems:)

I agree I took my 2 on their first trip at 8 months and we are going again in 12 days. They will be 13 months for this trip so I'm looking forward to see how they interact this time. They traveled so well last time :). We are traveling with British airways this time so thanks for the info on how good they are.

I was the same at first but now I take them 2 or 3 times a week to my local mall. It's just over 2 miles away so I walk rather than drive gets them some air and myself out lol. I mostly go on my own and they are mostly good. Good luck I'm sure it will all go great for you :).

Thanks Hun. :)

I'm going to brave it soon. It's just intimidating at the moment as I've not fed her out in public yet, I'm not discreet at it yet at all, and she can't take up to an hour to eat. So I have this vision of me going out for 3 hours. Spending 30 each way getting there and parking and then an hour sat in a feeding room somewhere!

Such a lovely thing to hear. I'd forgotten how great it was to take my daughter Joy when she was tiny. She too had lots of problems but those first two weeks holiday that were spent in the world were a real catalyst for change for her.

Joy is now 23 and still has challenges but Disney makes us all children so nothing matters!

thanks for you encouarging thread.

I am pregnant due on 4th september we have already booked Florida for next September 1st -16th so if baby arrives on time she will be celebrating her first bithday in Walt Disney World. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

DH keeps having 2nd thoughts about taking a baby so you have reasurred us were not bonkers :rotfl:

Thanks for posting this! We're going to WDW 9th Aug and our Granddaughter who will be 3 weeks old on Sat will be coming with us! We're really looking forward to it and I'm sure that she'll get a lot out of it, lots of little wrinkles in her brain. We took out youngest DD to CA when she was 6 months old to see my DHs family and that went really well, but I know that there is a big difference between 3-6 months. Fingers crossed that everything goes just as smoothly for us! :thumbsup2

I agree. We first took DD at 4months. Sure there are challenges but IMO Disney (and Florida in general) and very baby friendly and so helpful. The baby centres in the parks are brilliant too!

Actually I find its been more difficult the older she's got as it takes more to occupy her on the plane :)

Thanks Hun. :)

Don't worry it does get easier to feed and honestly in a few weeks you will so glad when you watch other mums faffing with bottles :)

I agree with this! You don't have to take boiling water and mess about making it up with a crying hungry baby. It does get easier plus she will get quicker once she gets the hang of it too.

Now it is a little harder feeding my 10 month old as she fidgets and likes to see what's going on at the same time. But we are still managing without any embrassing situations.

Ahhh, I'd have loved to have taken DD sooner, but she'll be just turned 3 when we return...and I'm sure we'll have just as much fun :goodvibes Nice to see so many taking younger babies and toddlers though, it's very reassuring :thumbsup2

It's great to hear this, we are taking our DS who will be 15 months this October. People have told me I'm crazy but I wouldn't want his first holiday to be any where else!

TBH, I'm really excited to see it through his eyes, our niece wasn't much older when she went for our wedding and still talks about our wedding "in the big playground" LOL!

I'd only say he was too young if it was going to be his only trip but we are planning our 2015 trip already!

Thanks for posting, i'm due September 16th and had been planning to go back when baby is just over 2 but maybe i'll go sooner!

We took our DS when he was 13 months and we all had an amazing time. There was loads of rides he could go on, he loved the characters and was as good as gold. Can't wait to take him back in October when he will be just 3. Wish we could have taken him back when he was 2 but funds wouldn't allow it!

Great post :thumbsup2 Looks like you have put a lot of parents minds at ease!! :goodvibes

DBF and I have said if we're fortunate enough to have children and in a position where we can afford to go to WDW, we would love to go whilst he or she is of toddler age or younger.

I imagine it's amazing seeing Disney through the eyes of your child.

:)
