I have an associate (actually she is the head nurse in my clinic) who rented points from a DVCer who had multiple posts but the DVCer is not returning calls and my nurse and her family have their reservations for this weekend... But, she does not have her confirmation number for her ressies... We've tried calling member services but cannot confirm the ressie as we are not members (i am awaitinf ROFR)... Can someone call MS and confirm her reservations for us? Please PM me and I'll give you the details if you can help... She is beside herself and I feel responsible because I first suggested renting points... Thanks
 
I don't believe MS will confirm a reservation for anyone except the member who made the reservation. Sorry, hope everything works out all right. Maybe she could call the resort and see if they have her name on the arrival list for this weekend.
 
can't a member call and check to confirm when their "friend" will be checking in?

If we are not the member who made the reservation, they won't speak to us either. Call and tell them the situation. She doesn't have a confirmation number? I assume she has a member name. Member Services should be able to look up the member's name and the date of the reservation and see if your co-worker's name has been added to the reservation.

Regarding one member calling to get reservation status on another member's reservation:
They ask for your member number whenever you call MS. If your number doesn't match the name, they won't tell you anything about somebody else's reservation. Again, sorry.
 
While it's true that they will ask for the member number, simply tell them the truth. "You are renting from a member and are concerned that possibly the reservation doesn't exist. Will they check for you?"
 
I just recently became a member, so recently in fact that my info isn't in the system yet (should be any day, all the closing is done), so I cannot call for you.

But I have rented points in the past, and I was always able to call MS and confirm, even though I told the CM answering that I was not a member. I did exactly what Pam suggested--said I was not a member, was renting pts and wanted to be sure my ressie was in the system.

I know it's a moot point now, but I have to wonder why your friend would have waited so long without a confirmation #? I am a very trusting person, but not that trusting!

Calling the resort might be the easiest thing to do, she doesn't have to give a member number at all & the resorts should have this weekends arrival's loaded by today or tomorrow...
