Anyone ever donate computer equipment? If so where. We have an outdated desktop and even though we had paid big money for it - it is 10 years plus and needs to be updated. Thank you!
I take out the hard drive and donate the towers to our elementary school's computer club. The kids get a chance to experiment with the guts of a computer without any worries about ruining it and the school has the resources to responsibly dispose of it when the time comes.

Yep. Most non-profits refuse to even take computer equipment these days since they don't want to deal with it if it doesn't work. Best Buy will recycle it, though. Just remove and destroy the hard drive before giving it to them.

Actually, at least here, most non-profits welcome used electronics because they can make money recycling them. There is gold in the circuit boards they can reclaim.
