Donald's Safari Breakfast thing... is it not good?

We made reservations there for breakfast for our day at Animal Kingdom. I had wanted to get breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, but the only available one was late in the day, and we would miss a lot of time at AK, so we'd prefer to eat some place closer to AK (like in the park :) ). When I called, though, it was pretty easy to get a reservation for around 9:30 (maybe that's late for some people?) and there were lots open after 10. Is that because it's not popular because it's not good or just no one knows about it or something?

Also, if you've been, what characters are there (I'm assuming Donald is one ;) ). Is Daisy Duck ever there?

I think you got lucky getting an ADR there. In June, I had to call practically every day to get one! Unfortunately, I then had to cancel it as no one wanted to go to AK in the hot June sun! (It's always 10 degrees warmer there)

I was lucky to get an ADR for 10am for our Nov trip. I've only heard wonderful things about the breakfast. The food is traditional american breakfast with an african twist.

I actually wanted a late breakfast. I feel like AK is so far away and you always need to allow more time to get there than the other parks. So, 10am works for us.

It's a very popular breakfast, usually not easy to get an ADR. But that goes for all character meals.

Don't know about Daisy, I'm guessing the fab five minus Mickey will be there?

We lucked into a last minute ADR there in April, very glad we did. We had 9:10 ADRs, waited only a couple of minutes. And after breakfast we were still able to go and have a 5 minute wait for the safari.

I think the food is some of the better breakfast character meal food, it has a nice variety, with your standard breakfast fare and some African-inspired dishes as well. I was throughly filled by the end.

The characters are Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy all in their AK Safari gear. DD(2) loved seeing Daisy there. Good character interaction, they each spent a decent amount of time with us too.

We ate there during our trip in Sept and yes it was during free dining, but it wasnt on my list and then last minute, last minute being a month I decided to add The Tusker House breakfast and it took me 2 weeks before I could get a ressie and I called 3X a day but I finally lucked out and got one and it was the best decision ever, the food was great and the characters were very good, we will be going back on our next trip.

I think since the park is open and people want to be in the park!

We did it over Labor day and plan to do it again! The food was wonderful! Its now our fav breakfast. We met Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey.

Well that's all good to know! It seemed so strange to me that there were a LOT of options open (especially since all my ADRs are being made way past the 180 day mark - we only planned this vacation last week! :) ), but maybe just randomly it'll be a less busy day? I have no idea, but it works for us!:confused3 But I'm glad to know it sounds fun (Daisy will be a HUGE plus to my DD - she loves her right now!). Thanks so much!

How early can you get a breakfast reservation? Do they open earlier than the park like Crystal Palace does?

Tusker house was our most FAVORITE breakfast last January! You will love it.

I ate at Tusker House in June, and I enjoyed it. It was really nice there.

Characters are Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy. Their outfits are really cute!

They need to kick Mickey and Goofy to the curb and bring in more ducks!

I went in March during a non busy time. I got a 10 something ressie because that's all they had. But I called the day before and just got lucky since it wasn't really busy at the parks!

The food was delicious! One of our favorite places. LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!! The kids loved it too!

We went to Tusker House and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast this past trip. We loved Tusker House! We had lots of time for character interactions and got great pictures. Daisy had a little parade with instruments and the CMs were very nice. It's the only restaurant we plan to do again when we go in May. We were disappointed with breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I don't know if it was the difference between an early breakfast and a late one, but we felt very rushed at 1900 Park Fare.

HHMMMM!! Sounds interesting. We never get to see or meet Daisy. We always miss her. May be this is a must try to get ADR.

The wife and I have stated a few times that Donald's breakfast is the best one we have been to and I think we have been to all of the character ones. You may not get the character time you do at say Cape May but it was the best food by far, a lot more choices I thought.

The breakfast at the Tusker House is wonderful. The food is the best I have had in all character buffets and the character interaction was the best in all of my Disney experiences.

Characters we met were Donald, Mickey, Pluto & Daisy.

We just go back a couple of days ago and went to both as well. To tell you the truth, I feel rushed at all of those character meals. People, including myself and DW, rush up to get the food, rush back. All the while fighting your way to food. I tend to wait in a somewhat orderly line but not everyone does. Kids with no adults grabbing food with their hands. (Sometimes even with clueless adults). That leaves me angry at times which takes from the whole experience. We also did Askerhaus (sp), Crystal Palace and 1900 for dinner. Maybe I just do too many? Is it me or do manners not exist anymore? I'm sorry for the rant. As for Tusker house, It wasn't one of my favorites IMO. Food was ok but I just didn't feel it although they have the best characters. BTW.... our Belle at Askerhaus looked like she wanted nothing to do with the kids on that day.
