Donald's breakfastsaurus

A definite must do for us (as a family) on the next trip...I did it alone on my solo trip recently.
Great interaction with the characters (and the only one with Donald Duck which was my sole reason for trying it LOL) although only Donald and Goofy came to my table... I think Mickey was wandering around somewhere.
Had PS and was seated quickly- although I must say I made the PS for 10am to have a late breakfast so I wouldn't feel rushed to have breakfast... and ruin extra magic hour.

Oh and btw- if you are staying onsite and want to take advantage of extra magic hour- scheduling this PS doesn't help you get in any earlier, it just makes you sitting in there having breakfast while all the other resort guests are riding rides before the full crowd is allowed in at 9am. Just wanted to point that out. When I make PS for this next trip- I will ATLEAST make the reservation for 9am... that way we can take advantage of the extra magic hour and THEN have breakfast while the full crowd rushes in in the park. :)

This is a "MUST DO" for our family. This has become one of our traditions. Our first full morning we eat at "Donalds". There are 11 of us (4 adults and children from 2-13) and we always get to sit at the same table. The charater interaction is GREAT! We do not feel rushed at all. The servers are always up to something, my sister in law got the "sneeze" last year. The look on her face was PRICELESS! She even got the "ketcup" the year before. We changed our PS this year because of early entry, we now have 9:50 ressies. Enjoy!
:earsgirl:

What do you mean, early entry? I thought that Disney had stopped providing this for resorst guests? We are staying at Wilderness Villas for the week, have a 9:30 PS (would have prefered an earlier time but nothing available for our party of 7). I'm concerned that it's going to run into clean up for the lunch crowd..........oh, so many decisions and so much fun!
Have any of you checked in earlier.......say 30 minutes or more before you PS in the hopes they could fit you in?

3 of us adults had a heckuva time at the Breakfastosaurus back in 2000. We had a crazy server who scared me to death with the ketchup. He also used a dinosaur puppet to talk to us. Didn't seem to matter to him that there were no kids at our table. Mickey came by while I was up at the buffet and he sat down in my chair and waited for me to come back, then he didn't want to get out of my chair and acted in pantomime like he was really glad I'd brought him a plate of food. The food was pretty good but it sounds like it's even better now. This will most likely be the character breakfast I take my nephews to next year for their first experience.

I wouldn't worry. We had a 10:30 PS and there was plenty of good tasty breakfast food available.
Early entry is back for resort guests!

Yep, it's true - early mornings are back but only for resort guests and they are checking everybody to make sure you have your resort key. Make sure everyone in your family has their resort ID/key! The early morning schedule is:
Sunday - Magic Kingdom
Monday - Animal Kingdom
Tuesday - Studios
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - Magic Kingdom
Friday - Animal Kingdom
Saturday - Studios

hi all, we are going to be at Disney May 2-9 and was wondering we are 2 adults no kids, would we look ridiculous going to a character breakfast? we would love to go to one but we dont want to feel weird

We are going in June 2004, DS (18) graduation from HS. Also going is his girlfriend (18), whom he may be engaged by that time, and parents. GF has not been many places, so DW is going to overwhelm her, she mentioned that she didn't care what characters she saw as long as she sees Cinderella! Well, guess what I'll be doing 60 days before we are ready to go! Also, is getting a PS for Donalds as hard as getting one for CRT? No luvindisneyworld, you will not look rediculous, you will be like us, you'll just look like your having a great time!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

PS for Donald's is no where near as difficult as Cindy's.

If you are staying on-site, observe the above schedule for Extra Magic Hour, formerly known as Early Entry. If you go to AK on EMH day, schedule a later breakfast so you can take advantage of the fewer guest and hit the Safari first (animals are more active when they are first released from their night quarters and become more lathargic as the day progresses) and other E-ticket rides.

If on the other hand you are staying off-site or your itenerary doesn't match up with EMH, get the earliest PS available (8:10 am for 9:00 am opening, 7:10 for 8:00 opening) so you can enter the park and do breakfast while everyone else is waiting to get in the gate. Also, during the earlier seating times, the restaurant is less crowded so the characters can spend more time with you.

Have a great trip!

We have an 8:10 PS for Feb. 23 and we can't wait! Can anyone explain how long they spend on breakfast? We would like to get going in the park as soon as we can? Will we be through by 9:15? One concern I have is that by starting in Dino Land, we may never get anywhere else DS (age 4) is really into dinosaurs and will probably not want to leav.:bounce:

When I was there in December, we had an 8:10 P.S. and the second we were seated, the waiter ran off to get us our drinks. He recommended we sit there before going up to get food as the characters would be right over. The various characters came over one by one and spent quite a bit of time with us. (We are two adults.) We then went up our FIRST time for food. It was so great - best buffet at WDW in my opinion. The characters and waiters kept coming back and "playing" with us while we were eating. I went back for another plate. My daughter went back at least 4-5 times for more cinnamon french toast and by the time we were done, we could hardly move. Anyway, we left at 8:50 and were right there ready to start the rides before the other guests were even in the park. They kept us in Dinoland but at about 8:55 they left us head over to the Safari in Africa. We were the first people in the first vehicle. It was wonderful! So, as long as you are there at the park around 7:40 so you are first or second in line (in the line specifically for Donald's), you'll get in first to the reservation desk which is right inside the gate. Then if you have an 8:10 (which is the earliest they give out on non-early entry days) and are one of the first in the gate, you'll be in the first group seating. You will be done with no problem by 9:00 A.M. However, if you arrive at the park at 7:55 or 8:00, you will be back further in line and you may not make the first group of people that are taken into the restaurant even though your PS is at 8:10.
