My wife and I have never eaten at Donald's Breakfastosaurus and are thinking about making this our one character meal for the next trip. We weren't big fans of Chef Mickey's. We liked the character interaction but the food was so-so. We love both the food and the character interaction at the Liberty Tree Tavern's character dinner. How does this restaurant compare? :)

We were thinking of trying this too, but have heard more bad reviews than good, which is bothersaome since my DD LOVES DOnald :( Would love to hear GOOD reviews.... :scratchin

And had a good experience both times. My only complaint was that it is a bit rushed the last time we went (Oct '04). Otherwise, we really liked the food, and on one occasion, got to see each character twice.
You are right though, there seems to be lots of folks who don't like Donald's.
I'm just not one of them.

We love Donalds, and do it every year. I am baffled where the bad reviews come from--everyone we talk to that has been loved it!

Great food-from the freshly made omelets to the Krispy Kremes--with good service and great character interaction. And Donald is there!

Another good review from this family.

We went in 2001 and 2002 and have it scheduled for June this year. The breakfast is standard buffet breakfast - eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, omlets....

The character interaction has always been good and the servers sometimes get into the "act" as well.

We have loved this one ever since the start, good food, the fab 5, we have personally never felt rushed, charaters are great, and we have usually had great staff; there is one waiter that does magic tricks, we've had him a couple of times. We like to go to this one early, as that section of the park is later to open, and you can gain access with PS to the breakfast, then a quick jaunt after to Dinosaur! Lot's of good choices on this buffet, from breakfast casseroles to fresh fruits and pastry. Enjoy!!!

We absolutely love Donald's Breakfastosaurus!!! It is one of our must-do's each and every trip. My two boys ages 15 and 12 "insist" on this PS and we already have ours for our June 4-14 trip. Can't wait!!!

so glad to hear positives! Anyone know the times they run?

We ha a great time in 2002...we had booked for a late seating around 10:30 and never felt rushed.

Food was hot and delicious, plenty to choose from too. The characters were around and came a couple of times....

My first character meal at WDW....I'll never forget the look on my DD's face when she saw them up close.....se barely ate because se was so excited.

The hours are 8:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. :)

Donald's was the highlight of our last trip! We were not rushed at all, and our waiter did magic (which my 5 year old loved!). The best picture I have of our entire trip is my 2 year old with Donald!

I thought the food was fine - it was a bit of a walk to the buffet, though!

I thought the food at Chef Mickey's was better (we went on a weekend - I don't know if it is different during the week - there was "brunch" food also - not just breakfast food).

I would highly recommend it!

Sorry, but YUCK!! We went last May and didn't care for it at all. We had a late seating, and the food was awful. It was picked over, some of it was overcooked, some undercooked...YUCK! They were preparing to tear down the buffet right after we were seated.
We felt rushed by our server, and the character interaction was brisk. Never again for us, and it's such a shame, because our DS5 loves Donald!

Guess I wont book a late ressie then, maybe 1st thing, does anyone know how long takes to get from GF to AK? Assuming busses run often? thanks :flower:

Marcy- curious what time your PS was? We've done this breakfast before and LOVED it- but we always did it like first time available. This time I made our PS for later (10am) because we want to be able to sleep in. This time it's just me and the kids and we intend to take advantage of all the late evening EMH and not get up at the crack of dawn. I asked them if it was a bad time to make an appt or if we'd be rushed/etc.- and she said they just wouldn't allow more in after 10:30 but that we wouldn't be rushed.
Now you have me worried they'll be putting up food or it will be nasty/cold/picked over. :(

Thank you so much for the positive responses! We're trying this one for the first time in May and DS - shh, he doesn't know we're even going to the World - loves Donald and dinosaurs. Hoping it's a big hit. We did do the first seating at 8 am, but we usually like to do the last breakfast seating (making it, in effect, lunch) and have never felt rushed or that the food wasn't fresh at any character breakfast. How disappointing for those who have experienced that!

We are planning to try Donald's on our upcoming trip. Our oldest DS(4) loves dinosaurs! Does the dinosaur theme carry over into the atmosphere of this restaurant?

Donald's Breafastosaurus was the one place my four boy's want to go back to. We did Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace also. When we told them we were going back in June the first thing that they asked was to go back to Donald's. It was a bit rushed when we went last October but the kids loved it!

:earsgirl:

Havent been but read its like a paleontologists work site, w/ scripts on the walls, waiters are "students"....should have character meal w/ Ross from "Friends" here ;)

We went in late 1998 & it was atrocious. It was the only place in WDW that we ever ate at that we will never try again. Sorry, we just didn't like the food at all. The character interaction was good tho & we loved seeing Donald.

We were just there in January, and absolutely loved this breakfast. I had been skeptical before booking because I had read some negative reviews, but we had a wonderful time, and it's one of the best memories I have of our trip.

I didn't notice dinosaur theming in the restaurant, but I may have missed it. It was my son's fifth birthday the day we were there, and he's into dinosaurs too so I would have thought he or I would have noticed, but neither of us have any recollection of dinosaur theming in the restaurant.

Have fun!
