Opinions, please

I'm thinking about adding this on the last morning of our trip.
I know it's McDonald's but how did your little ones like the character interaction?

Donald's Restaurant is 2 restaurants in one -

Donald's Breakfastosaurus is a character buffet every morning for breakfast with Donald, Mickey, Goofy & Pluto. The food is nothing like McDonald's. They serve hot foods like eggs, pancakes, sausage, etc. & then have another buffet with bagels, donuts, fruit, cereal, etc. This is one of our favorite character meals. Try to go very early or late into the seating for more character interaction. We visit here every trip. :)

Although I've never been there later than breakfast - Donald's is your standard McDonald's fare for lunch/dinner (with no characters. )

Hope this helps! :)

McDonalds?! Really? I didn't know that! We went last trip and we had a BLAST! Breakfast buffet was great, the usual eggs, bacon, potato, also another buffet of cheese, bagels, fruits, cereals...all the yummies.

It's my fave. character breakfast (yea, even more than CRT). The breakfast buffet is well organized, we had a 8:10 or so PS (We were a little late b/c of the bus service at WL, but once we got there, the CMs were very well organized and took us directly there after maybe a 5 min. wait) and once we got seated, they led us to the buffet line. Once we got our food and sat back down, the lines were huge but moving quickly.

Then the characters came out and I just love their safari outfits, the interaction was wonderful and the service was great too! I was just talking to DH about making PS for it again :p

Also, the park was still closed when we got there, so we got some awesome shots of the empty AK, and by the time we finished, they were just dropping the rope for ppl to go into Asia.

It was so much fun!
Hope this helps, ENJOY!!!

I know some have posted bad experiences with this breakfast before, but we had a great meal here a few years back. We went one morning out of the blue (both of us were starving and needed more than a coffee for once), and loved it. Got some great pics with Pluto and had good food- waffles, bacon, eggs, juice, etc. And, we didn't need a full lunch that day, since we ate so well.

If you're going to be in AK anyway, it is a very convenient character breakfast.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I had only read the negative posts about this breakfast. I know it's a buffet but many have posted that it's McD's food in buffet form.

I'll call for a PS and we'll try it this trip.

It's only McD's for lunch/dinner. It's a Disney buffet at breakfast.

We were there 2 weeks ago and it was great. We had an 8:00 PS and had wonderful character interaction. Even the waiter got in on the fun. When we were done we were able to walk onto all of the rides in DinoLand USA several times before lines began to form. Go and enjoy!:D

We've had breakfast at Donald's three times, and had a lot of fun every time. The food has always been good - standard WDW breakfast buffet food. And the character interaction and CM's have always been very good.

This was the first character meal we did on our first trip ever to WDW last year. The food was wonderful and the characters were great. We had a late time (I think maybe around 10ish?) so we did several rides (including Kilimanjaro) first (it was EE day) and then went and had bfast. Because we were there late the charaters came around for a "second pass" and we got a photo with all the charaters together with our family--something that rarely happens from what I have heard! I was so thrilled! It is my favorite photo from the whole trip!

Because we ate such a late breakfast we were able to only eat 2 meals that day (dinner later) and save some money!

Have fun!

SOLD

I'm calling tomorrow for a late PS for the last morning of our trip. We will be leaving for Disney's Vero Beach Resort in the early afternoon so a late breakfast will get us thru until dinner.

Thanks for all the responses. The kids will love it. DS will be happy it's not ANOTHER princess breakfast!:D

Donald Duck is my favorite character...so I am kinda partial to this character meal...LOL

But we last ate there 2 years ago. We loved it. It is our most favorite character breakfast. The food was really good and the character interaction was great.

My 5 year old was 3 at the time and he LOVED it. Looking forward to going back in November.

Have a great time....

DONALDS'S IS A GREAT BREAKFAST BUFFET. A FEW OF THE KEY POINTS TO THIS BREAKFAST ARE:
#1 I BELIEVE IT TO BE THE ONLY CHARACTER BREAKFAST THAT HOSTS "DONALD" (WE HAVE EATEN AT EVERY CHARACTER BREAKFAST AND DON'T RECALL DONALD DINING AT ANY BUT THIS ONE)
#2 IF YOU ARE EARLY RISERS, I SUGGEST TRYING TO GET A PS FOR THE FIRST ONE OF THE DAY. I BELIEVE IT IS 7:35. THAT WAY YOU WILL BE IN THE PARK BEFORE IT OPENS AT 8:00AM. YOU WILL BE NEXT TO DINOSAUR, SO AS SOON AS YOU ARE FINISHED HEAD OUT TO THAT RIDE, AND THEN HOPEFULLY YOU CAN BEAT THE CROWDS AND RUSH OVER TO THE SAFARI. THE EARLY HOURS ARE THE BEST FOR THE SAFARI, SINCE THE ANIMALS ARE UP, AND NOT NAPPING.
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Donald's is a must do for us. We really like to do the last seating.
We arrive at AK at opening, do a few rides then head over to donalds. The food has always been fresh/hot and tasty (and nothing like McD's). I always get a made to order veggie omlette. If they are not busy they will also cook fried eggs at the omlette station. The CM's are great and we've always had good character interaction too.

I'm glad to hear all the great opinions on Donald's! I made a PS for it, despite the 50/50 reviews I had heard, and I'm glad now that I did!

Can't wait!!!

we loved the breakfast. We went very late and the characters stayed with us for a very long time. We took a ton of pictures. Goofy kept kissing my neice, and donald fed my son. They loved it. I am going to go again this coming october. I am going to go late just for the extra fun.
