Donald's Breakfastosaurus... calm my fears!

So lately I've seen a lot of negative things being said about Restaurantosaurus/Donald's Breakfastosaurus.. I've made an ADR to surprise my DH (we have no children) since Donald is his favorite character, but now I'm wondering if I should cancel. Honestly, what is the food like? Also, we have a 10:00am ADR, but I was thinking of making it earlier to get into the park earlier, but then someone else told me that a later ADR is good because it's less crowded and character interaction is better.

Advice, please! :confused3

LOL! We do this meal every single trip (and will again in August). We love it, our kids love it, characters and food are great.

We were there last week, and it was one of the better meals of the trip. We had an 8:05 ADR and were the first in the park. The waiters made it interesting and the food was great. We were finished in time to get to Expedition Everest first thing (we rode 3 times). Try it!

We really enjoyed Donald's breakfastsaurus. We thought the food was pretty good and our boys loved the characters.

we loved this
it was a blast food was good and hot
we were there very early
and the characters were around alot

I saw a lot of negative comments about Donald's Breakfastosaurus too. We booked anyway and had a great time. The food was good and the character interaction was fun. Don't cancel...You'll have a great time! :)

We did this one last year and are doing it again. The restaurant theming is very cute, and the character interaction and waitstaff were GREAT.

This was the restaurant where I tried to eat the morning after sustaining a head injury at PI (um, yeah, totally stupid and my fault due to a fall and yes, I had an ambulance ride and everything...) I was REALLY sick and actually threw up en route to the restroom (where I was going to throw up) and the CMs totally knocked me out with their kindness and attentiveness. NOT ONLY did they really help me both sensitively and helpfully (not the usual um, here's a paper towel kind of thing-- really cared for me) but they distracted DD3 and helped my DH get her settled amidst all the excitement. She had initially been quite upset seeing me sick, but they turned it right around for her. SO-- KUDOS to that entire team. :wizard:

I didn't eat anything other than Coke and a biscuit, but the buffet looked simple and thorough-- eggs, potatoes, meats, fruits, pastry, done. DH says it was just fine but not nearly as good as the Crystal Palace and Park Fare breakfast buffets which had more unique specialty items and nice presentation.

The pictures are cute-- my DD3 loved it!

ETA: AND they did not charge for my meal! We were on DDP and that nice waiter just charged us for a beverage and my DH paid OOP. COOL! And sensitive-- we didn't have to ask. (And we wouldn't have anyway.) :thumbsup2

I just took my 3 year old last week, and although he would have nothing to do with the characters it was still worth it. They would try to interact with him but he would put his head down or dive under the table and watch them- which was priceless. Our server was awesome and although the food was your standard buffet fare, it was the best meal my son ate all week. Also, I think it is worth it just to bypass the regular line to get in the park, which was huge the morning we were there.

My ADR was made a while ago and Im looking forward to it, especially after reading all these posts :goodvibes My only concern would be I made the reservation for 8am (thought I was doing a good thing) but then found out it is EMH this day. Still no big deal except I wanted to ride EE right after breakfast. We might have to fast pass. sorry to be :offtopic:

we also did donald's for my best friends bday this past month and were suprised that it was our favorite meal while we were there! The food was great and the character interaction was outstanding. I rebooked for my september trip to spend my birthday there as well

We have ADR's during our Thanksgiving trip because of how much we enjoyed Donald's on a previous trip. It's hard to mess up a breakfast buffet and we were really happy overall. I hope you enjoy it very much and have a wonderful trip! :wave2:

We had an ADR for 10:15 at Donalds and I thought that all the food would be gone. I know sounds silly. But when we got there they were still putting food out. It was less crowded, and the characters were in no hurry to leave. They keep Donald and Mickey seperate, :teeth: Donald thinks he is #1 and even signed his name that way. :rotfl: The food is normal breakfast fare. Very good. Hot. They had a hot section with pancakes, eggs bacon, sausage, etc. Then a cold section with fruit and ceral, muffins, doughnuts etc. Its not gourmet kind of stuff but good. The characters look so cute in their outfits with dinos all over them.

I also think you adr is fine. Get to the gates before opening, get in line, and when they open you can do EE, then Dinosaur, before you hit breakfast.

Have fun! :goodvibes

I don't think that sounds silly at all. I just made our ADR for 10:15 too and I told dh the same thing! I hope it's not just the yucky leftovers from earlier! :rolleyes1
