Donald's Bfast @ AK worth a dining plan meal?

Is it worth it to use a dining plan sit-down meal for Donald's breakfast just to get into AK early? We are not big breakfast eaters - all other days we will be eating bfast in the room. But, I want to get a "jump" on the safari crowd. Will getting in early for Donald's bfast help us?

We love Donald's, and go every year, but I don't think its worth going just to get into the park early. There is an EMH morning on Saturdays, which you could use for early entry. But Donalds is a lot of fun!!

(We are going on the MYW plan in April, but are paying cash for Donalds instead of using a table service credit, because it is reletively inexpensive.)

Blech - Donald's is the only place in WDW that we will never eat at again. It was pretty horrid food, IMHO. That was in 1998, so things may have improved, but we have never felt the urge to give it a second chance.

I was at Donald's in 2003, and it was pretty bad. I also didn't find a big advantage getting to AK before opening. (It's definitely worth it at MK). For one thing, Donald's is a the opposite corner of the park as the safari, so you are better off just getting to AK before the park opens.

Very surprised to hear the above comments on Donalds food. We found it better than CM, and about the same as CP. Everything was very fresh, and the buffet area was kept spotless, which is much more than you can say for Chef Mickeys. We think the character interaction as well as the service is very very good at Donalds.

I wouldn't do the meal to just get in early.
But if I may offer some advise - we did use it on a EMH morning for "lunch"(we took the last breakfast seating). We got to the park at early entry time, charged to the safari, did the conservation station etc...and by the time our 10:45 or so PS, we were ready for "lunch". We found enough food to satisfy us for lunch, and continued to do Dino area after it. We enjoyed the meal, and loved the character interactions there!

I wouldn't do Donald's just to get early, but I think (just there a few months ago) that it is one of the very best character meals--and we've done 80% of them.

Thank you all for your input. Since dh (and the kids) are not big breakfast eaters, and the breakfast won't help us out with the safari, I think we will skip Donald's. I'm thinking of dinner at Chef Mickey's instead...
