Any thoughts? This will be our first character breakfast ever. Only place that really fits into our plans. Anyone have pics? Which characters are really there? OUr ADR is a 8am. do we just so to the main gate and they will let us? How about busses? What time do they start from ASSP?

Once we are done is it better to jump on the Safari while the animals are eating or head over to Exp Everest? We will be there Jan 7 so hoping it is not very crowded.

We are a group of 6 adults, 14 yo and twin 7 yo boys.

THANKS!:worship:

I can't speak on the busses, but we loved the Safari Breakfast. The characters are Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. DD(2) loved seeing Daisy (her favorite). The food is a little more varied than your typical breakfast buffet which we loved.

We had 9:10 reservations and then just rode the safari with no wait, and this was back in April, during a pretty crowded time. You can always send a runner to get FP for EE, meet back at the safari, ride the Safari and then move over to Asia, that's generally the route we would take.

Characters are Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Goofy. This was the favorite of our whole stay. The kids loved the characters and the food was good also. I would suggest doing the safari after, since you are close to it.

You will LOVE it!! We were a group of 12....half kids/half adults. We all had a great time, loved the food, had enough variety. January shouldn't be too busy. Be sure to dress for cooler weather!!

We just ate there a few weeks ago. We had an 8 am adr. We were at our resort bus stop by 7 am. I can't remember exactly how long we waited for a bus, but I know it was no longer than 15 minutes. When you get to AK, just go to the main entrance & there will be a line for Character Dining. They let us enter & go back to Tusker House at about 7:45 am.

Afterwards, we prefer to do the Safari 1st. The safari is so close to Tusker House that if you choose to do it after the breakfast, then you should be on one of the 1st vehicles for the morning. We always ride safari 1st thing at rope drop because the animals tend to be more active early in the morning.

I would tell you to definitely try this breakfast because you should form your own opinion. However, this is one of my least favorite breakfast adrs & we probably won't return anytime soon. The food is good - standard breakfast buffet. The character interaction is poor - we have always been rushed with the characters at this particular breakfast. The seating is a bit cramped & the atmosphere is lacking.

Just ate there a few days ago.. GREAT breakfast. Pastries are excellent... we ate there once and had ADR for 8:15... we got the bus at 8... i'm not sure what time they actually start running though. you'll enjoy this breakfast!

When I was there, they did a cute parade about every half an hour, whee the characters and kids would play instruments.

And this picture of Daisy Duck might give you a little idea of the resturant. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the food, but it was very good!

Last year, at about the same time you are going (I think our brekfast was on the 12th of jan), we went to that charicter brekfast.

We also did Chef Mickeys for both brekfast and dinner. Donalds brekfast safari kicked BUTT!

I handled all the planning, and I wanted to do it because well, Donald is my fav charicter.... who says a 30 year old guy can't love disney!

But we honestly all loved it (Me, 25 yr old wife, 4 and 5 year old boys). We booked for 10 am: got in the park at nine, did the safari, then went to brekfast. When we got out of brekfast, the acrobats were performing, and where we came out we were actually behind them. They kept running up to the boys and giving them high fives. Then a CM asked us to move... :(

Anyways, when we go in Feb this year, it is going to be the ONLY charicter meal we do: Really good food, good service, GREAT atmosphere...

and oh yeah: DONALD FREAKING DUCK!

This is one of the character meals I'd like to try next April as most of the reviews have been positive. And who can resist meeting Donald and Daisy? :flower3:

We're going to TH breakfast next month for the 1st time. We don't normally do character meals any more, but we're taking a newbie with us this time. I actually think the negative review above is the 1st one I've read. I've been kind of surprised, because there's usually a mix of good & bad reviews on every restaurant.

As a side note, we also have an 8:05 am ADR. We're staying offsite though. Have any of you with an early ADR stayed offsite? What time did the parking lot open, & was it a pain to get in that time of morning? TIA :)

Oh you all have me so excited now! We have this reservation for our trip that's coming up and I'm so excited now! Thanks for the info!

We loved this meal the first time we went in Feb, but not so much when we went a couple weeks ago. We had a terrible waitress, the girl at the check in desk was very snotty, and then to top that off dd was in hysterics crying when they did the parade because no one ever came to our entire side of the restaurant to hand out the little musical instruments yet they were handed out in the front section so all those kids were dancing and having a great time. She remembered them from last time and is very funny about that sort of thing (sort of an ocd 4 year old...) and kept asking about it the whole meal, so to get passed over when the dance time fnally came broke her heart. she sat in her chair, crying, and trapped by some woman's large behind that was backed right into her face during it and couldn't even get out and join in. Of course her crying made my mom start crying, so there I am with two blubbering women trying to enjoy my corn flakes. :lmao: The waitress asked what was going on and said she'd send the manager out to speak to us because dd was so upset, and that he would "do something nice for her" (not that I expected anything), and do you know what he did? He had her pose in a photo with him. Um yeah, thanks bud. The way he approached her she was mortified and thought she was in trouble.

We ended up staying an extra half hour just so we could "try again" and that time I got up and went to the basket where the music stuff was and got them out for myself. Later I saw the manager fussing at a waitress for not passing them out, after he started handing them out himself.

I just made an ADR for this the same day at 8:10. How bizarre. I've done the forerunner, Donald's Breakfastsaurus twice and loved it, and everyone says it's even better now, plus  Daisy. BTW, I'm a 56 yo guy; the love for the Ducks knows no bounds.

Don't let the pic scare ya, come over and say hi. We're good folk.

For us it was just "ehhhh, okay." Our server was non existent. I asked her twice for whole milk for DS When she disappeared, I found another server to see if she could reminder her...that never happened. Fourth time asking, we got the milk, and it took long enough that both DH and I sat for a few minutes, then each took a turn to go to the buffet and we had all started eating before it came. I thought the character interaction was frequent, but very very quick. They had no interest in visiting (and I am not asking for a long time either) but it was literally pose for one picture and get out. The food was an odd combo of typical breakfast items and African styled/spiced foods. I much, much, much, prefer the time of the interaction and food at Crystal Palace, but that is also like comparing apples and oranges...

Now, that being said DS had fun and smiled the whole time, so that is what really matters:)

We were there 2 weeks ago. Loved, loved it. The food was awesome. The character interaction was very, very good. It took awhile for them to make it to our table--they had just started in our section and we were the last table. By awhile, I mean 15-20 minutes. WE spent that time taking turns getting food and then settling in to eat, mingle, and get autographs. They did not rush us and were very accommodating with my 4 yr DD. My husband is a hard sell on this type of stuff...and he liked it alot. Our waitress was much, much better than the one at Crystal Palace.

We had ADRs for 10:15. We showed up about 9:50...and were called to be seated before we could park the stroller. We went straight to the safari when we entered the park, rode it, then went to breakfast. Glad it worked out that way.
