Don Cesar? Has anyone stayed there?

We are considering taking a longer trip and going over to the gulf beach area during our summer vacation. My DH has been to the area and is intrigued by the Don Cesar. Has anyone stayed there or have any experience with it? I would love to hear all you know about this resort.

Very nice upscale resort!Have stayed there in the past ...thank god my company paid for it The spa is great and so are the restraunts.Have fun if you go!

HI, We have stayed there a couple of times. We really like it. It has 2 pools that are right on the beach! Gorgeous, historic and all updated.

We have stayed at the Don Cesar Beach House Suites. We had priviledges at the Don Cesar resort down the beach a way. We walked down one afternoon but we didn't stay. It looked nice but we had what we wanted at the Beach House...the beach! It was nice. All of the Pools at the Don Cesar are basic...no water features that I could see, in case that matters to you.

There are many places to stay right on the beach. It seems that there are more and more either completely new or extensively remodeled (condo style) resorts popping up on the mid gulf coast.
One other nice place that we have stayed for a quick weekend trip (in November 2006)....Sunsetvistas.com . We had an oceanfront suite. Loved it!

Oh and our Don cesar trip was in the summer....being on the coast was cooler weather wise than being inland. This made it quite pleasant.

Very nice! It is a Loew's hotel now, like the US hotels.
