Domestic first class options??????

Delta and United are adding seatback entertainment to all planes. I think they may even be finished, aside from the small connecting planes. I don't see any airlines using widebody planes for the direct flight, so Delta on the A321neo is probably the best hard product out there. They have a great entertainment system, free wifi for Skymiles members, and full meals and drinks. You might be able to piece together a flight on two widebody aircraft from LAX to ATL and ATL to MCO, but I'd personally rather do a direct flight on regular first class.

Occasionally, and mostly during the summer, AA 2091 runs a widebody LAX-MCO, and you then get the lie flat seats. Until fairly recently this was actually a widebody route specifically to get the business of Disney execs transiting between LAX and MCO

There may be a one off flight but I don’t ever recall AA with regular widebody service between LAX/MCO. Maybe you’re thinking of MIA? The last time LAX/MCO had regular widebody service was in the 1990s on DL, and those aircraft were equipped with standard first class cabin.

There’s not a lot of corporate traffic between Los Angeles and Orlando from Disney, and when execs do travel they take the private jet.

The remaining 737 are suppose to get the screens soon, before the OP is set to travel.. These planes aren’t flying from Los Angeles, anyway (they usually do short haul from Atlanta). This means all of Delta’s mainline jets will have screens once again, except for the 717. None of them have them and there’s no plans to install them.

If you want an elevated first class seat, you'll need to connect. Lax-Mia on American usually has at least one wide body flight with international first class seats.

not much to add here, most of my travel is on the west coast so when I (infrequently) get upgraded to first on Alaska it's larger seats 3 or 4 per row and free drinks. rarely a meal, because my flights are usually 1-2 hours. Alaska doesn't fly anything larger than the 737's so they don't offer the upsized first, but that's par for the course for most first class experiences. It's comfy but I don't every pay extra for it.

It doesn't and Delta one lie flat doesn't fly that either.

I don't honestly care about the boarding first because we pre-board with our sons autism. We usually each have a backpack that easily fits under the seat in front of us so we don't use overhead bins. Even the food is....meh. My son is too picky and the food honestly doesn't look that great. And we don't drink alcohol so we don't really care about that.

I really wanted the kind of first class private cubicle look. But I can't find it anywhere.

Sorry, I didn't read through all the replies. If you're looking for that cool "lie flat" type of seating, those are for trans Atlantic (and probably trans Pacific though I have no experience with that.)

We are flying to London from Philadelphia in September and I'd love one of those lie flat seats, even if it was only one way and a regular seat coming home. Those overnight flights are exhausting.

Flying from LAX to MCO

Wanting to do it big for our 25th anniversary but when looking at domestic first class tickets I was highly disappointed. It looks like the same coach seats just slightly bigger? I looked at the big three, Delta, American and United. Plus most airlines have gotten rid of the seat back entertainment and you have to use your own devices and are at the mercy of their wifi working.
Does anyone have any advice for a nice flight and "doing it big" flight? Honestly not finding anything.

I would definitely do Delta if you’re looking at first class. It’s actually called Delta One and it is an equivalent to first class. You’ll be flying to Orlando with lavish menus, in flight entertainment at your screen, and other high quality toiletries.

It isn't called delta One unless it is transAtlantic, domestic from Los Angeles to Orlando is just called "first class" and doesn't do the lie flat seats. Delta does look to be the best one out of the major airlines for first class but only if it is the A321Neo

No, this is flat out wrong. It is called DeltaOne if it offers the DeltaOne seat and service. That is primarily transoceanic routes but also includes some domestic routes. You can fly DeltaOne from LAX to ATL or NYC, my wife flew it from HNL to MSP.

Only International First Class is Delta One with a limited number of domestic exceptions, none of which are LAX-MCO. It's usually helpful to read the thread before posting bad information when the subject was already discussed.

You can definitely fly DeltaOne from LAX to Boston. You'll have to find another flight from Boston to Orlando though.

The question was about LAX to MCO. Those flights on Delta are not Delta One. They re simply First Class. Which is still good.

Yes, Delta does operate some flights in the US as Delta One. Just not the ones between LAX and MCO.
