I am sure this has been addressed somewhere - what is the absolute EASIEST - LEAST HASSELS- way to get from the Dolphin to the Monorail Resorts (ie: specifically the Contemporary and Poly) ?

THANKS!!!

when we stayed at the boardwalk (which shares the same bus system as the dolphin) we found that taking the bus to the ttc then walking over to the poly worked well since you weren't standing around and waiting for bus transfers. At that point you could pick up a monorail to the contemporary. I don't know if that's the 'official' or fastest, but it seemed it for us. We also walked thru epcot to the monrail and transfered to the resort monrails rather than dealing with buses....as there are no direct resort to resort buses. I think we also took a bus from the boardwalk to the mk and then picked up a boat to the wl for dinner one night as well. This worked well too. We found that thinking beyond bus to bus connections worked best for us. Whether this is the most efficient I don't know, but it surely felt that way.

I would say your best bet now, since no buses run from resorts to TTC any longer, would be to take a bus to MK, then walk to the contemporary or hop on the monorail to the Poly.

If MK is closed, then try walking or taking a boat to the Studios, then take a bus directly to the Contemporary or Poly.

If Studios is closed, then if you don't mind using a day on your park pass or have already been in the parks that day, walk through Epcot to the main entrance, and take the monorail to TTC, then Contemporary or Poly.

If none of the parks are open, then you'll have to take a bus to Downtown Disney, then transfer to a Poly or Contemporary bus.

Also, a taxi should be around $10.

Walk out the front lobby - tell the bellman you would like a cab to the (insert the name of the monorail resort you would like to visit)- wait about 1-2 minutes enter the backseat of the yellow cab and enjoy the ride. The easiest - leasst hassels way to get resort to resort is via a cab. The ride, as the previous post indicated should be about $10 one way.

I'd take the Dolphin bus to MK and walk from there right up the ramp to the 'rail. Isn't that right outside the park entrance, or has my usually good memory for geography failed me?? That would be for the Poly. From the MK bus 'depot', it's a short walk to the Contemporary.

drive.

if you don't have a car, take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks everyone for the quick and USEFUL replies!!! I think this convinces me to take the taxi for the early breakfast we have planned and bus to MK and "monorail it" for our other event.

Thanks so much!!!! :D

DH and I took a cab from the Dolphin to the CR for our dinner PS and the cost was $16. After dinner, we took the monorail to the MK, walked down the ramp to the bus stops and took the bus back to the Dolphin.

Now that you have told us it is for a early breakfast, they do have early busses for the early character breakfasts. Check with your front desk at check-in to see what time they run.

There should be a "Magic Kindgom area" bus that will stop at each of the monorail resorts to deliver folks to early character breakfasts :-)
