Dolphin swim upgrade?

We booked the stingray city/ dolphin cove swim on Grand Cayman (through DCL). I have 2 booked as swim and 2 as encounter: my youngest might want to do the swim too but I'm not 100% sure so I booked the lower rate (along with my husband). FWIW: they don't know we're going so I can't ask him outright.

Does anyone have any experience with upgrading at the facility? I don't want to pay the higher rate unless I thought he would definitely want to do it.

I would think you would be able to upgrade, assuming they have space on that particular day. But, it's possible there might not be space on the day. For instance, if they have room for 10 people on the swim, and 10 people have already booked for that day, you might not be able to upgrade it on that particular day.
